Football Accumulator Tips:

Burnley v Huddersfield – Burnley win

Burnley have started the season impressively under Sean Dyche, they've bounced back from their disappointing season in the Premier League and look a good proposition to end the season with a play-off spot as a requirement. They are hard to beat and even when they come up against stubborn defences (Blackburn), they have the flair and creativity to find a route around it. They are unbeaten in their last 4 and have tasted defeat just once in 8 games, which was to inform Reading. They face Huddersfield, who have picked up after their poor start to the new season, but suffered a narrow loss to Derby County last week. They've only won once in their last 4 away which was at hopelessly out of form Charlton. The Terriers have only picked up 5 points from their 6 away games and average less than a goal a game on the road and will find it hard here.

Bristol City v Fulham – Over 2,5 goals

Bristol City were unable to find their way past a stubborn Cardiff defence on Monday night, but the Fulham backline tends to be a lot more generous. Fulham are the kings of goals in this league with their 4-2 win against Reading last weekend encapsulating their season in a nutshell. 2-0 down at half-time, the Cottagers had a purple patch scoring 3 goals in 6 minutes to completely turn the game on it's head. Kit Symons' men couldn't score against Middlesbrough, 2 games ago, but this was a Boro defence who are renowned for their thriftiness and a back 4 who kept Rooney and co at bay in midweek. Fulham the highest scorers in the league with 22 goals to their name and Bristol City have the second worse defence, only bettering Rotherham when it comes to shipping goals. Both teams have scored in 83% in Fulham's games this season and  69% of those matches have ended over 2.5.

Port Vale v Shrewsbury – Both Teams to Score? Yes

This is a local derby-of sorts. Shrewsbury make the short trip to Vale Park for this league one clash and we suspect both sides will find the scoresheet. There was disappointment for Vale last time out as they were soundly beaten 2-0 by promotion candidates Burton Albion. Rob Page's men have only scored 31% of their goals on the road, so they have a much higher chance of scoring as the hosts. They have netted in each of their last 3 home games and average over a goal and a half per game in front of their fans. They also have a knack of defending sloppily and have conceded in each of their last 11 games in all competitions. Shrewsbury have scored in their last 4 games overall and have seemingly overcome a sluggish start to their season. A little patience with manager Mickey Mellon has paid off though and they look like they'll have enough to be safe. They have conceded 8 goals in their last 3 away games however, which must give plenty of hope that both sides will net here.

Carlisle v Yeovil – Carlisle win

There are plenty of long journey's in League Two this year and this is one of them. Mind you, most trips to Carlisle are a huge undertaking for any fans. Yeovil haven't given their fans anything to sing about recently and you can't imagine many being enticed by an October trip to Brunton Park. They are only kept off the bottom by the incompetency of Dagenham and the early season horror shows that Newport regularly served up. The Glovers haven't won since mid-September when they won 1-0 at Crawley and it looked like they had turned a corner under Paul Sturrock, but they haven't kicked on. Carlisle haven't been in imperious form, the goals have dried up, but they did beat Exeter here and that was a decent result. They recently got 2 good away wins at Leyton Orient and Stevenage, but they are a difficult team to get a grip of. A clean sheet against Exeter will have helped confidence at the back and their 1-1 at Wycombe last time out wasn't a disappoinment by any stretch of the imagination. They should be able to beat their under-par opponents.

Newport v Northampton – Both Teams to Score? Yes

John Sheridan has really made a difference since taking over from Terry Butcher. His side have started to look more of a threat and they have found a few goals, netting 4 at Bristol Rovers last weekend. They face Northampton, who have numerous off the field problems, but haven't let it affect them on the pitch. This will be a difficult match for the Exiles, Northampton are scoring goals, but they are also conceding, which could see a way back into this for Newport. Chris Wilder's side have scored in each of their last 11 games and they shouldn't have too many problems finding a way round a generous Newport defence. They've also conceded in their last  6 successive away games. They're the 5th top scorers in the league and are going about their business quietly but effectively. With the players not being paid this week, they are having to prove themselves as everyone is in the dark about the financial future of the club. I fancy both sides to find the back of the net here.
