Switzerland vs Moldova predictions and betting tips for tonight’s international friendly with two bets included in our betting preview.
Moldova might not be playing in Euro 2016, but they’ve been getting plenty of practice in ahead of qualifying for Russia 2018. They were narrowly defeated by Croatia on Friday, but the scoreline should have been heavier. Switzerland are their next opponents as they look to bounce back from their defeat to Belgium.
Switzerland vs Moldova Betting Preview
Lugano hosts this warm-up match for Switzerland before taking their place in Group A alongside France, Albania and Romania. They have announced a fairly young squad, which included three teenagers as they look to bring through the next generation.
The squad isn’t without household names though and Arsenal fans will be keeping a keen eye in particular new signing Granit Xhaka, who is certain to be a starter. Xherdan Shaqiri and Admir Mehmedi are also included in the squad.
They had a decent qualifying, coming second behind unbeaten England, but they were defeated by Slovenia en-route. They’ve previously finished bottom of their group during their three previous European Championships, but it’s hard to see them being as poor this time around.
Switzerland v Moldova Predictions
Moldova were lucky to come away with just a 1-0 defeat against Croatia. Andrej Kramaric netted after nine minutes and it appeared we had a rout on our hands, but they couldn’t add to it. They offered little in attack and their lone frontman faced a frustrating evening before being replaced.
Going back through their results, they don’t score enough goals, but they aren’t often heavily beaten. They have only conceded a single goal in their last three matches and they haven’t been on the end of a big defeat since 2013. 2-0 and 2-1 are heaviest of late. Switzerland have lost their last three matches and scored just a single goal in that time. Seferovic was dismissed against Belgium despite the match being a friendly.
The first Switzerland v Moldova prediction is for a low scoring affair. Many will expect Switzerland to hit Moldova for four or five, but I don’t think it will be that easy.

Moldova don’t score enough goals. They’ve netted just seven times in 15 matches and rarely troubled the Croatian defence on Friday, so my second Switzerland vs Moldova betting tip looks like a banker.
