Over jumps we have racing from Aintree, Chepstow, Sandown and Wetherby this Saturday, and my first tip comes in the 3.35 at Sandown.  The David Pipe trained BUDDY BOLERO (5/1 Coral) looked to be running into form when finishing second to Vintage Star at Carlisle despite more than a handful of errors.  When I spoke to David last season it seemed pretty clear that he is more of a tug than a speedboat, making this three miles five furlongs the sort of stamina test that should see him excel.  With workaholic A P McCoy in the saddle, he wont be given the chance to down tools at any stage if still in with any kind of chance and should represent a good each-way bet.

On Sunday (I think it’s early morning but the clocks confuse me) I look abroad to Japan and the Hong Kong Vase over a mile and a half on the flat.  Years of travel have meant I have a good base of friends and colleagues around the globe and my Japanese contacts tell me that ASUKA KURICHAN (33/1 Ladbrokes) has a huge chance.  The son of Sterling Rose showed so much improvement last time out when stepped up to this sort of trip that my contacts cannot comprehend why he is a 33/1 shot!  It is a tough race to win and The Fugue is a very worthy favourite to be fair, but when someone spends their money calling me from the other side of the planet to tell me a horse is over priced, I have little choice but to sit up and take notice!
