Chasing his 19th consecutive victory, the Paul Nicholls trained 11 year old is on a longer winning streak than any other National Hunt horse currently in training. However, after an injury enforced 420 day absence from the track, it is conceivable that he may find at least one too good on Saturday ahead of his tilt at the World Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.

Reve de Sivola (10/3 Betfred) is the obvious candidate to take advantage of any rustiness in Big Bucks. The Nick Williams trained 9 year old will be looking to repeat his double success achieved in last season’s Cleeve Hurdle and Ascot’s Long Walk Hurdle and he is the first of our horse racing tips for Cheltenham on Saturday. He has already notched a fluent success in this season’s renewal of the Ascot event last month and he looks set to race on his favoured heavy ground on Saturday. Regardless of the wellbeing of the likely favourite, Reve de Sivola will prove difficult to beat.

On all known form, the major players in the day's other big Trial race the Argento Chase, seem unlikely to play a leading role in the outcome of the Cheltenham Gold Cup in March. Nevertheless, this still looks a fascinating contest with the first three home in November’s Hennessy Gold Cup looking set to reoppose. On that occasion the Nicky Henderson trained Triolo D’Alene got the better of a protracted duel with the Paul Nicholls trained Rocky Creek. However, on this occasion it could pay to side with the horse who finished third that day, Theatre Guide who is currently at odds of 6/1 with Bet365 and makes up the second of our Cheltenham tips this weekend.

Unlike his conquerors at Newbury, Theatre Guide has demonstrated some solid course form with a narrow loss to the useful stayer Monbeg Dude when conceding 9lb. He won’t be inconvenienced by the likely heavy ground which can’t be said of Triolo D’Alene and he looks sure to go close. Of the others, the progressive Harry Topper has to concede weight to horses he would be receiving weight from in a handicap and the popular chaser The Giant Bolster looks to be a shadow of the horse that finished third in the Gold Cup two years ago. The biggest danger therefore may come from the tough and genuine Houblon des Obeaux. The Venetia Williams trained gelding can already boast of a course victory to his name and his last time out victory confirmed him to be still on the upgrade. He looks well worth a saver.

We are making up the Cheltenham tips for Saturday to a treble or a Trixie if you’d prefer with Double Ross (11/4 Bet365) in the 1.50pm race at Cheltenham races on Saturday. The current market leader has won his last two starts, both at Cheltenham and has to be respected on that form alone.

Finally, whilst she is no betting medium, the progressive Annie Power will be worth watching should she turn up for the Doncaster Mares Hurdle on Saturday. The Willie Mullins trained mare will be racing over the minimum trip on this occasion but come Cheltenham in March, she could be the one to beat in the World Hurdle.
