Nigeria vs Spain Match Preview and Betting Tips

Today sees Nigeria take on Spain in the final game of Group B in the Confederations Cup.  Nigeria started off well with a 6-1 win over minnows Tahiti with Oduamadi grabbing a Hat-trick, but then suffered a 2-1 defeat to Uruguay where they lacked the finishing touch in front of goal.  Spain on the other hand beat Uruguay 2-1 with the opener causing some debate as Pedro's shot took a massive deflection which was credited in the end as a own goal, with Soldado subsequently getting the opener.  Spain then went on and thrashed Tahiti 10-0 with Torres grabbing four and Villa netting three in the riot.

Nigeria need to beat Spain if they want any chance of reaching the quarter finals but they face a up hill task to beat the current World and European Champions.  Spain have only lost four times since being crowned world champions in 2010. These defeats are to Argentina 4-1, Portugal 4-0, Italy 2-1 and England 1-0, which shows the monumental task that stands in front of Nigeria to progress to the semi finals.  Spain are virtually through but need a point to seal top spot in group B.

Nigeria could cause Spain problems with their pacey attack, but they first have to get the ball from Spain who rarely conceded possession.  Looking at all the facts it is very hard to see anything here apart from a Spain win and I like the look of Spain to win to nil which is currently best price 21/20 with Coral.  I can see Spain scoring a few goals against a shaky Nigeria defence and I go for a 3-0 Spain win which is best price of 8/1 with Bet Victor.  I am a big fan of the first goal scorer market Betfred do a great offer on this.  If your back a first goalscorer and they score first this then sets up their offer of Double Delight and Hat-trick Heaven.  So if your selected player scores first then goes on to score a second anytime, your odds will be doubled.  If he then goes on to score a Hat-trick you will get treble the odds.  As I can see Spain scoring a few I would be advising to take either Soldado or Torres, depending on starting-line ups, who are both 7/2 with Betfred in the First Goalscorer market.
