A Monday night La Liga clash between two sides who have been amongst the goals recently. Athletic club were last seen beating Valencia 3-1 here, which was some achievement as Valencia had only conceded twice all season prior to that. They also put 3 past Getafe and were close to taking a point from Real Madrid, eventually losing 2-1. They've scored 7 goals in their last 3 home games and drew 2-2 away at Deportivo. They also concede goals with alarming regularity and it's something Ernesto Valverde will have to address, let's hope he doesn't in time for this game. Their opponents found goals hard to come by in the early stages of the season, but since then, have got into their groove scoring 10 goals in their last 5 matches and there have been 20 goals altogether in these encounters, averaging 4 a match. I fancy this one to have plenty to keep the neutral entertained. 

 

Belenenses v Uniao Madeira – Under 2.5 goals 

Over to Portugal for this match which isn't shaping up to be a classic. Neither of these sides can claim to be in-form at the moment. Looking at the bare statistics, Belenenses have the worst defence in the division, but if you take away the 6 they shipped away at Benfica and the 4 away at FC Porto last time out, they have only conceded 7 in 7. There is such a gulf between the top handful of teams and the rest of the league and therefore, it's better not to factor those thumpings into the equation. When facing teams around them, the games tend to finish unders. A 1-1 draw with Maritimo and a 2-0 win over Moreirense are the final scores during their last 2 meetings with teams around them. They've only won once this season, so they aren't exactly exuding confidence. Their opponents haven't won since 16th August and prior to losing 2-1 last time out, completed 3 consecutive goalless draws. 

 

Clermont v Lens – Both Teams to Score? Yes

It's 7th v 16th in a French Ligue 2 clash as Clermont host Lens and we fancy both sides to get on the scoresheet. Both sides have found the net in 6 of Clermont's last 7 games and in all of the last 4. They're here off the back of a 2-2 draw and their last home match saw them finish 3-2 winners against Bourg Peronnas. Lens, relegated from Ligue 1 last season haven't adapted particularly well. 16th in the table and just 3 goals scored on the road. All 3 of those goals have been scored in their last 3 away games, 2 defeats and a win. 4 of their last 6 games have ended with both teams scoring and they come here off the back of a 1-1 draw. Clermont have scored in each of their last 5 home games and conceded in all of their last 7. It looks likely to happen again here. 

 

Maccabi Tel Aviv v Beitar Jerusalem – Over 2.5 goals 

Over to Israel for this Monday night game where the home side sit top of the league  7 matches in. This is their 4th home game and previously they've won 5-0 and 3-2 and lost 1-2. There always seems to be plenty of goals when Tel Aviv are in action. They face Beitar Jerusalem who were on the wrong end of a 1-3 defeat in their last away game and have had over 2.5 goals in their last 4 consecutive matches. They've both scored and conceded in their last 5 consecutive games and against the leaders, they look succeptible at the back once more. Tel Aviv have scored 15 in 7 matches and have scored 60% of their goals at home despite playing one less match than on their travels. Goals should be on the menu.
