Rubin Kazan v Bordeaux – Bordeaux Draw No Bet

Yes, it's a long distance to travel for the French side, that can often count against sides in the Europa League, but they are meeting woefully out of form Rubin Kazan. The home side went down 2-1 here to Ural in the Russian Premier League this weekend, Ural being one of the less fancied sides in the league. They also lost to team – SKA Energiya from the league below and there's generally quite a gulf between these divisions. Being on  the end of a cup scalp can't be good for the confidence and they also lost their first Europa League game to Sion a couple of weeks ago. Just 4 points from their last 6 games is a poor return and they won't want to face a Bordeaux team who are rolling into Russia on a high after beating Lyon 3-1. They did get battered by Nice, but they held both PSG and Liverpool to draws and should get at least a point here.

Monaco v Spurs – Both Teams to Score? Yes

In comparison to recent journeys made, heading to Monaco must be delightful for the North London club. Considering they face a trip of Azerbaijan, heading across the water shouldn't be too much trouble. They come off the back of a thumping 4-1 win against Manchester City, knocking them off the top of the table in the process so confidence must be high, Mauricio Poccettino will no doubt shuffle his pack, but he has a strong squad and they should find the net against a Monaco side who have conceded 5 goals in their last 2 games and 7 in their last 3. Leonardo Jardim's side have conceded in all but 2 of their league games this season and might struggle against the pace of Spurs. They drew 3-3 at the weekend and are capable of finding the back of the net. Generally speaking, Spurs' backline is anything but solid.

Celtic v Fenerbahce – Both Teams to Score? Yes

Celtic drew 2-2 away at Ajax last time out and it was a topsy turvy encounter. They might be less gung-ho this time as they face visitors who are looking to become the firts Turkish club to win in Scotland. Celtic drew 0-0 with Hearts at the weekend, but they have previously been scoring plenty at Celtic Park and this should continue to be the case. Celtic will be missing Charlie Mulgrew and may choose to leave the controverisal Leigh Griffiths out of the side, but should still be strong enough to make a match of it. Fenerbahce lost 3-2 to Besiktas at the weekend and that was on the back of a 2-1 win against Buraspor. They lost 3-1 at home to Molde in their last Europa League game, a bad start to the group and they'll be looking to bounce back here.

Club Brugge v Midtjylland – Club Brugge win

Since being battered by Napoli in the first round of games, Club Brugge have turned it around and won 3 on the trot and they have scored 7 in the process. They have certainly turned a corner and should be too strong at home for Midtjylland. Just the one home defeat all season for the Belgians and that was to Manchester United in the qualification games for the Champions League. Although the Danish club won their opening game against Legia, coming here and aiming to get 3 points might be a greater challenege.

Braga v Groningen – Braga win

Groningen travel to Portugal for their second group game and they look as though they might struggle to pick anything up. It's been a punishing schedule for Groningen, who prior to last weekend had played 4 games in 10 days. That included a 2-0 defeat to Ajax and a 2-1 KNVB Beker cup comeback against Twente. They lost their opening Europe League game 0-3 to Marseille and I think they will struggle against a Portuguese side who are good on home soil. The Dutch side have lost their last 3 away games and although two of these were against PSV and Ajax, they do struggle to pick up results on the road. Braga are unbeaten at home in all competitions since May and have won their last 3 home games and should be too strong for their opponents here.
