Europa League Preview and Accumulator Betting Tip

This week sees us welcome back European football to the busy football calendar, writes Matt Fellows, as he delivers his verdict on some of the most tasty-looking Europa league ties on Thursday.

The new boys of Europe, Swansea, who have surprised us all with two wins in two, most notably at the Mestalla against Valencia in an emphatic 3-0 success, are the hosts to Kuban Krasnodar who finished fifth in the Russian Premier division last season. Swansea are priced at 2/5 to win the game outright and look banker material.

The stand out fixture for me would have to be Wigan hosting also Russian opponents in Rubin Kazan. The Latics come into this fixture with a defeat from Blackpool on Saturday and not in the best of league form. However a very good victory over NK Maribor still gives the team belief of qualification from the group stage, especially with a result here. Somehow I see that Rubin Kazan will be too strong for the Championship outfit and at 5/4, I see them coming away from the DW with a victory.

Another good encounter is in group B as we see Dinamo Zagreb host PSV in what could be a tasty affair. With PSV’s defeat to AC Milan in the preliminary stages, they did show some real quality in their ranks. With youth amongst their key players it will be valuable experience for them to have a good lengthy competition this year. Luciano Narsingh, Adam Maher & Tim Matavz are such players that big European teams will be looking at come January with their impressive efforts. For me, this result will go to one team, that being PSV, who can be backed a even money.

Other fixtures include Fiorentina hosting Pandurii where I see the Italian giants showing them a valuable lesson. Tottenham travel to Moldova to face FC Sheriff Tiraspol where Jermaine Defoe will be sure to add to his already impressive European goal scoring tally. Valencia entertain St Gallen hoping to get back on track their already poor domestic and European campaign. I can see a win for the Spanish outfit and at 2/5 this makes the final selection in the accumulator.
