Africa Open 2014- Golf Betting Tips & Predictions, can our man @gbenno79  make it 3 out of 3 after tipping 12/1 and 40/1 winners on the European tour in the last two weeks, read below for this weeks golf betting tips, enjoy.

Africa Open : South African’s To Fight For Title

Course : East London Golf Course, Par 72, 6,632 Yds

East London Golf Course was opened in 1893 by designer Colonel SV Hotchkin.

The East London course is the shortest on the 2014 European Tour Schedule, at just over 6,600 yards.  Being accurate off the tee must be an advantage this week.  The long hitters who are generally more wayward may struggle this week due to the rough being very penal, at around 80mm high.  The course is set by the Indian Ocean and the conditions due to the location are usually windy.  The greens here at East London are quite small so good iron player is essential.  There are three par 5’s on the course holes 1, 3 and 15 which are all reachable.

Inside The Field : 154 players line up for the Africa Open in Eastern Cape, the field will be headlined by South African Thomas Aiken who will aim to win his third European Tour title.  Aiken who had a massive opportunity to win on home turf after leading the Joburg Open after three rounds disappointingly finished with a two over par round on Sunday leaving him in 5th position behind first time winner and fellow countryman George Coetzee.

East London GC plays host to the latest stop on The Race to Dubai this week, as another strong line-up of home heroes look to replicate the success of Darren Fichardt 12 months ago.

This is the seventh European Tour event to be held on the tip of the African continent this season, with plenty of success coming for players who have taken advantage of being back on familiar ground.

No player of another nationality has ever won this event, which suggests that one of the countless South African’s teeing it up this week could be celebrating come Sunday afternoon, and there are plenty of candidates worth keeping an eye on as a result.

There will be plenty of European talent looking to spoil the South African party in East London this week though, with the likes of Frenchman Grégory Bourdy, Northern Ireland’s Michael Hoey and England’s Robert Rock headlining the challenge.

The latter of those, Rock, has recently looked back to something like his best with a tie for 22nd place at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters at the end of January followed up by a share of fifth at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic.

Morten Ørum Madsen has also tasted plenty of success on South African soil this season, picking up a maiden victory at the South African Open Championship hosted by the City of Ekurhuleni last November, a result which also makes him a front runner this week.

Selections :

This weeks selections will all be South African players, this is due to the fact that no foreign golfer has won here at the East London Golf Course.  I have particularly concentrated on players who have already won a title on the European Tour as this seems to be common trait for previous winners of this event.

Thomas Aiken     10/1 Win- Coral- Open a new Coral account by clicking this link bet just £5 and get a free £20 bet!

Thomas was one of my selections for last weeks event at the Joburg Open and he did pay off in each way terms but it could of been much better for the man from Johannesburg, Thomas was leading going into the final round only to shoot a disappointing round of two over par to leave him in the wake of fellow countryman George Coetzee.  Aiken has three top-10 finishes to his name so far this season, he also finished runner-up here in 2010 when Charl Schwartzel was the eventual winner.

Darren Fichardt     25/1 EW-Sporting Bet- Open a new Sporting Bet account by clicking this link and get a ‘Risk Free’ £50 bet.

Darren will be defending his title this week and will surely put up a good fight keep his title.  Fichardt hasn’t been performing brilliantly over the last few weeks, last week he hit two consecutive seventies which made him miss the cut.  Although Darren has amassed four top-20 finishes to date this season, his best effort so far was a tenth place finish at the Abu-Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship.  Darren has won 13 times on the Sunshine Tour, so is very comfortable in his homeland.

Dawie Van Der Walt    35/1EW- Betfred- Open a new Betfred account by clicking this link and get a free £25 bet.

The power-house that is Van Der Walt must be on the short list at the Africa Open as he has already won twice in South Africa in 2013.  Dawie has been in fine form over the last calendar year and I am sure he can keep this form up in 2014.  Recently he came 9th at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters.   In a relatively short professional career, the big South African has won 6 times including winning the Sunshine Tour Order of Merit in 2013.

Garth Mulroy   50/ EW- Coral- Open a new Betfred account by clicking this link and get a free £25 bet.

Durban born Mulroy, has not been playing particularly great so far this season.  He has only notched up one top-10 finish, which was at the first event of the new season, the South African Open Championship, which was won by Morten Ørum Madsen.  Garth has won seven times as a professional, but has only ever won one European Tour event, which was the Alfred Dunhill Championship that was held in his native South Africa back in 2011.

Jbe Kruger   66/1  EW- Coral- Open a new Coral account by clicking this link bet just £5 and get a free £20 bet!

The little South African from Bloemfontein has won three times as a professional, winning twice on the Sunshine Tour and once on the European Tour in India, where he beat Jorge Campillo and Marcel Siem, by two strokes.  Over recent weeks Kruger has been pretty quiet, although he has amassed two top-20 finishes so far this season.  Last week he showed signs of his form returning with a solid display.
