After last night’s England match there is still plenty to play for in the World Cup and we have our editor’s best World Cup 2014 betting tips.

Pre-tournament Italy will have felt this game would be their easiest of the group stages but after Costa Rica upset Uruguay in their first game they will be very aware.

Italy themselves were very impressive against England – especially Andrea Pirlo and Antonio Candreva who ran England ragged. Their 2-1 win showed the new Italy who love to attack and care less about defending, they have kept just one clean sheet in their last ten matches.

Costa Rica took full advantage of a really poor Uruguay performance but the pace and strength in their attacks were very impressive. Uruguay rarely attacked with much penetration and it will be interesting to see how they hold up against a strong Italy side.

I do expect Italy to win this one, especially knowing a win is almost definitely enough to put them through and we saw that they can score goals. Switzerland v France 8pm GMT

The two favorites to progress in Group E meet in this match with the winner almost guaranteed a place in the round of 16.

France were impressive in their opening round match, dispatching ten man Honduras 3-0. The match could have been more interesting with Honduras on 11 still but France were thoroughly professional in dispatching them. Karim Benzema was the star man on the night and if he performs again Switzerland could be in trouble.

Switzerland started slowly against Ecuador and fell behind but changes from Hitzfield changed the game for them and they scored a last minute winner to grab a massive 3 points.

Both sides have carried strong pre-World Cup form in to the tournament now with Switzerland having lost just one of their last 19 matches and France unbeaten in 6 matches.

Both sides have very good defences, Switzerland kept clean sheets in 7 of their qualifiers while France have conceded in just one of their last six matches. The last three matches between these 2 sides have ended in draws but the latest was back in 2006. These ended 1-1, 0-0 and 0-0. I anticipate maybe a low scoring draw or France to nick the game, get on under 2.5 goals at 10/11 with Coral.

Honduras v Ecuador 11pm

Finally, is Honduras v Ecuador, not the biggest game ever but if this group wants to remain exciting someone needs to win.

From the opening games the most likely to win here looks like Ecuador, they were bright against Switzerland and very unlucky to concede a late goal which saw them lose when only an incredible tackle stopped them scoring at the other end.

Honduras looked more content with kicking the French than the ball Wilson Palacios was rightly sent off. They suffered a deserved 3-0 defeat in that game but did frustrate France for long periods.

Ecuador don’t have the same quality as France so if Honduras play the same frustrating tactics again, they could struggle to break them down. I imagine Ecuador will have enough in the end with the pace of the Valencias. Ecuador to win to nil is a tasty 9/5 with Coral and the best bet for this game, especially at this price.
