2.30pm Albany Stakes

Nine unbeaten records are on the line in what looks a tough opener.  Patience Alexander heads the market after seeing off Tiggy Wiggy at York.  That filly did the form no harm in the Queen Mary on Wednesday and she has a leading chance.

SLEEPY DUST (33/1 bet365) is an exciting recruit for Sylvester Kirk.  She ran badly green on her Newbury debut but still ended up a very comfortable winner.  With a nice draw to work from here she can strike a blow for Rip Van Winkle's first crop.

Betting Tip – SLEEPY DUST (E/W) (33/1 bet365)

Just The Judge (NR) is interesting stepping up in trip having stayed on well over shorter at Epsom.  This wont be easy giving weight away all round but she adds a touch of class to proceedings.

Saxo Jack and BOLD SNIPER (5/2 Betfred) might give her most to go, the former running well in some ultra competitive races over the winter in Dubai while the latter made an excellent return at Newmarket and should prove much straighter now.

Betting Tip – BOLD SNIPER (WIN) (5/2 Betfred)

3.45pm King Edward VII Stakes

The going is a bit of a question mark for Adelaide who has done all his racing so far on ground with plenty of juice.  He could potentially be top class if he handles the much quicker surface.  BUNKER (12/1 Coral) is likely to have needed the reappearance in the Dante on ground that was probably plenty soft for him.  The form of the race has worked out well and he looks a good E/W bet.

Western Hymn was all at sea on the Epsom undulations in the Derby but still managed to finish a very respectable sixth.  The more conventional track is going to suit him but Derby runners don't have a great record here coming on so quickly after Epsom.

Betting Tip – BUNKER (E/W) (12/1 Coral)

4.25pm Coronation Stakes

Lightning Thunder has already finished second in two Guineas this season and looks likely to run another game race.  My Titania was favourite for the Irish 1,000 Guineas before the heavens opened and she arrives here without the benefit of a prep run.  She has surely done plenty of work at home and will appreciate the underfoot conditions.

Rizeena should come on for her seasonal reappearance although she appeared to have every chance so the one with the tip here is TAPESTRY (12/1 Ladbrokes).  She was really well backed in the 1000 Guineas but proved disappointing with trainer Aiden O'Brien admitting he shouldn't have run her as he knew she was underweight.  Having been so well backed there I'm surprised she is so big now!

Betting Tip – TAPESTRY (E/W) (12/1 Ladbrokes)

5.00pm Queen’s Vase

Always a tricky contest with stamina to be taken very much on trust.  The market suggests it's a three horse race.  Ballydoyle send over Century, a horse who has been disappointing the last twice.  His best effort came on the quickest ground he has encountered so there is some hope for a stable with a good record in the race.

Mark Johnston also boasts an excellent record in this contest and he supplies Hartnell who was an excellent runner up in the Lingfield Derby Trial when last seen.  Prior to that run, at Epsom he finished behind MARZOCCO (5/2 bet365) and it's John Gosden's lightly raced son of Kitten's Joy who gets the vote.  He has been staying on to great effect in his starts this season and, given his pedigree, he was probably doing it despite the soft ground rather than because of.

Betting Tip – MARZOCCO (WIN) (5/2 bet365)

5.35pm Buckingham Palace Stakes

A cavalry charge to finish where FORT KNOX (12/1 Betfred) is an interesting runner despite having to carry top weight.  Just 1lb higher than when second to Chill The Kite last time, that rival franked the form no end when runner up in the Hunt Cup on Wednesday.  Horsted Keynes, Blessington and Hillbilly Boy have all been hit hard in the weights for recent wins but look progressive, the former especially after just six career starts.

Bronze Angel looks like he is starting to run into form again having slipped to a nice mark, he likes to be close to the speed and has an excellent draw to work from.  ZANETTO (50/1 SkyBet) isn’t easy to figure out but this time last year he was contesting Group 1 sprints, now in a handicap off 97 with a 3lb claimer reducing the burden even further.  His recent starts have suggested a step back up to this trip might help and he is too well weighted to ignore.

Betting Tips – FORT KNOX (E/W) (12/1 Betfred)

                    – ZANETTO (E/W)(NAP) (50/1 SkyBet)
