Croatia to Beat Cameroon 8/13:

Our first pick gets underway on Wednesday night as Croatia take on Cameroon. Both of these sides lost their opening group matches to Brazil and Mexico respectively and both need a win to stand any chance of progression. Croatia were very unlucky in the manner they lost to Brazil with a dubious penalty being awarded to Brazil. The Croatians were very impressive and have Mario Mandzukic back for this one so will be well up for this. Cameroon on the other hand deployed a back six against Mexico and if once again not for the officials could have lost by more goals still. Croatia’s quality should shine through in this one and they could set up an all or nothing against Mexico in their final group match.

Colombia to Beat Ivory Coast 11/10:

Secondly we have a match from Group C on Thursday between two of the favorites from that group. Colombia looked very good indeed as they easily beat Greece 3-0 on Friday night while Ivory Coast also won impressively, coming from behind to beat Japan 2-1. However, Colombia’s attack will cause Ivory Coast all sorts of problems at the back with the pace they have going forward. Rodriguez and Cuadrado are very good players to have and Ivory Coast may be worried here. Ivory Coast are a lot better going forward than they are at the back but Colombia’s more balanced side should see them to 3 points and the next round.

Italy to Beat Costa Rica 11/20:

Very few people predicted Costa Rica would beat Uruguay in their opening match at the weekend and they now may have a shock chance of progressing. They have to get past Italy though who were very impressive against an England side who didn’t play badly at all. Piro, Candreva and Balotelli were especially impressive and they will want to get their place in the next round wrapped up. Costa Rica deserve large amounts of credit for their result against Uruguay but their South American opponents didn’t show up at all and Italy will be a much stronger test, one they should fail.

Ecuador to Beat Honduras 8/13:

Finally to Group E for our last pick. Ecuador succumbed to a last minute sucker punch against Switzerland which saw them beaten. They impressed in that game though and were very unlucky in the end. They take on a Honduras side who were soundly beaten by France in the first game and whose only intention seemed to be to kick everything in sight. They are now without Wilson Palacios and look to be going home. Ecuador were pacey on the counter and should have enough to win this one.
