UFC Betting Tips for Tonight from Manchester

Lyoto Machida.jpg

UFC betting tips tonight: This week’s UFC Fight Night will be taking place in Manchester; welcome news to those of us who stayed up till 6am last week to watch the amazing UFC 166 live from Houston, Texas.

Over here at That’s Betting Tips UFC 166 was a good event for us as we hit a 5-fold accumulator valued a shade under 6/1. Unfortunately the Manchester card doesn’t have as many interesting fights or high tier fighters of UFC 166 – these types of fights are normally saved for the United States where MMA has more momentum behind it. However, there are certainly a few betting lines available juicy enough to tempt me into making a wager. I will be recommending that you join me in playing  a 3-fold accumulator and an outright pick.

Jimmy Hettes vs Robert Whiteford Betting Tips

Regrettably for the first pick of our accumulator I am picking against the British prospect. The fight pits the classic contest of a striker against a grappler. While the British Whiteford definitely has good striking I heavyily favour Jimmy Hettes and believe if he manages to take Whiteford down his submission skills will prove too much. Hettes’ ground game will be particularly effective given the relative inexperience of Robert Whiteford against top tier opponents. Put Hettes into the accumulator @ 2/7 with Paddy Power.

Al Iaquinta vs Piotr Hallman Betting Tips

Lightweight prospects Al Iaquinta and Piotr Hallman will clash in Manchester, both coming off fairly impressive wins. Though there is a great deal of hype surrounding former Polish Naval officer Hallman I favour the technically-sound striking of Al Iaquinta to keep his name in the Win column. Though in his last outing Hallman showed great heart to come back after being visibly rocked in the first round, I have more faith in the conditioning of Al Iaquinta to keep up the pressure. Al Iaquinta adds a lot of value to the accumulator @ 4/6 with Bet 365.

Norman Parke vs Jon Tuck Betting Tips

Once again I am picking against the Brit and taking Guam born Jon Tuck. I believe if this fight was taking place 3 months ago Tuck would find himself as a fairly convincing favourite. However, as he was unconvincing in his last outing he is the marginal underdog against Parke. Parke has some serious fitness but Tuck is the more explosive, skilled fighter better equipped to beat Parke in the distance. Add Parke to the 3-fold accumulator @ 3/2 with Sky Bet.

3-fold on Jimmy Hettes, Al Iaquinta and Jon Tuck at 4.55/1 with Paddy Power.

Lyoto Machida vs Mark Munoz Betting Tips

In the night’s main event, Mark Munoz will meet recent replacement Lyoto Machida who replaced Manchester’s own Michael Bisping who suffered a detached retina during his training camp. Unfortunately for Munoz, Macida is in my eyes a far steeper challenge and his world class karate will prove too much for the Filipino wrestler. Machida is a famed counter puncher and over the course of a 5-round main event he has every chance of knocking Munoz out. While Munoz looked aggressive in his last fight, he has a habit of plodding forward against his opponent meaning he could find himself on the receiving end of Machida’s deadly counter punches. Rather than taking Machida to win by KO/TKO at 10/11, I’d highly recommend a single play on him to win KO of the Night @ 5/1 with Paddy Power.

Recommended play Machida to win KO of the Night @ 5/1 with Paddy Power.
