Horse racing betting tips for today's Channel 4 live televised races on Saturday 31st January with the best free horse racing tips today.

Today's Horse Racing Tips

1.50 Sandown

UlCK DU LIN (13/2 Coral) started his season in great form by winning a competitive Listed handicap in November. After a poor run next time out, he showed renewed vigour when coming up short against today’s rival Ballygarvey. He was a little free and made sloppy errors that day and, as he is a young horse that has plenty of improvement to come, I expect him to turn the tables with Ballygarvey.

2.05pm Ffos Las

PUFFIN BILLY (E/W) (12/1 bet365) was a very smart novice hurdler who ended his juvenile campaign by finishing fifth in a Supreme Novices. After a horrific fall last time out, he has been switched back to smaller obstacles and I think on hurdling form he stands out as the class horse. As long as his confidence is still in tact he will take all the beating.

2.25pm Sandown

SPLASH OF GINGE (5/1 Paddy Power) was back to his best when winning at Cheltenham on New Years Day, having fallen when traveling well the time before. His overall form looks strong, he has scope to improve further and I believe he will claim his first Grade 1 contest.

2.40pm Ffos Las

In a race likely to turn into a slog over 3m 4f in heavy ground, we need to look for a strong stayer that enjoys testing conditions. FIREBIRD FLYER (E/W) (8/1 Coral) seems the perfect candidate having won last time out for today’s amateur. He looks a marathon specialist that thrives in testing conditions and has the credentials to out-battle his rivals.

3.00pm Sandown

POLAMCO (NAP) (7/2 Betfred) got off the mark in handicaps back in December and followed up in impressive fashion at Newbury. He has potential to do better still and could be thrown in at the weights. Harry Fry is in exceptional form and any horse he runs should be treated with the upmost respect.

3.20pm Wetherby

RETURN SPRING (7/2 Ladbrokes) had strong form over the smaller obstacles, and has dealt well with the transition to fences showing further improvement. His jumping let him down last time out, but with stamina to boot and a trainer that would have schooled him plenty, I believe he will prove difficult to beat.

3.35pm Sandown

JUST A PAR (E/W) (8/1 bet365) seemed to be back to his very best with headgear applied last time out when finishing fourth at Cheltenham. With the hood now added I believe it will bring out the best in him, and I can see him running into a place at an e/w price.
