This weeks Monday night football sees Stoke host Newcastle and we have free football betting tips.
Stoke have been a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde side of late while Newcastle will be hoping to pick up their first win of the season.
The Potters were very impressive 3 weeks ago as they beat Man City 1-0 at the Etihad but have failed to win their two matches since then. A home defeat against Leicester was followed up with a draw away to QPR and they do look to be an inconsistent side.
Home wins have all of a sudden become an issue and they have lost both of their games at the Brittania so far this season and have yet to even score a home goal.
Newcastle will be hoping to capitalise on this on Monday but they currently sit bottom with just 3 points picked up from 5 matches. Their 2 goal Papiss Cisse inspired comeback last weekend seems to have saved Alan Pardew's job but results need to improve. They got through in the cup against Palace in midweek but it is a league win they need.
Stoke are favourites here at 23/20 with Ladbrokes while the draw is 5/2. An away win is Available at 12/5.
Neither side are really worth backing at those prices. Newcastle have for the most part been really poor this season and another defeat will heap the pressure back on manager Alan Pardew. Riviere and Cisse may all of a sudden be finding the back of the net but there is still huge questions about their performances.
So here we have two sides in the bottom 5 of the Premier League, a home side who haven’t scored a home goal and an away side who haven’t scored an away league goal. You can’t really expect a goal feast here. In fact, 5 of Stoke’s last 8 at home have seen just a single goal while Newcastle have scored just once in 7 away games.
The game between these two here at the back end of last season ended 1-0 to Stoke and was as poor a game as you are ever likely to see. I can’t see this being a Monday night classic so back under 1.5 goals at 2/1 with Bet365.
4 of Stoke’s 5 games so far this season have seen them level at half-time. Both of their home games have also been drawing at the interval and neither of these teams have been leading at half-time yet this season. This will be a tight game so my second bet is the match to be a draw at half-time at 11/10 with Bet365.
To go with this on a similar train of thought the match to be 0-0 at half-time is 7/4 with William Hill.
