2.30pm Norfolk Stakes

I hate to bypass a Wes Ward juvenile but maiden To Be Determined hasn’t done it on the track and you would be backing him on trust.  Nonetheless, the fact that they have brought her over from the USA is certainly noteworthy.  

If I am wrong so be it but it would be tricky not to have been impressed by the two wins of THE GREAT WAR (6/5 Betfred) for Aiden O’Brien in a time when his juveniles weren’t really firing on all cylinders.  On that basis he looks the best bet in the race.

5.00pm Britannia Stakes

A mere thirty runners due to post for this handicap but I am hoping the real IDEA (10/1 William Hill) will show up in which case he should every chance to claim victory in this here.  Talked of as a classic contender last season as a two year-old he clearly isn’t as good as that but did win last time out at Kempton, quickening up when asked to win his race and I have to say, a rating of 89 seems pretty generous if he can repeat his recent gallops.

5.35pm King George V Stakes

Undoubtedly an extremely difficult race to decipher, I doubt I have ever tipped the winner of this race and I can’t see that changing here!  Tricky isn’t a strong enough word to be honest but if one has caught my eye in the form of ELITE ARMY (7/1 bet365).  He quickened up nicely to win last time out and is obviously considered by  connections to be a fair bit better than that – no good thing but my idea of another each way option.
