All eyes will be set on the Manchester derby in this round of mid-week fixtures, where for the first time in years the game means more to City in relation to the title race than United and we have free football betting tips.
United though will be wanting to inflict some damage to their neighbours title hopes without being in the race themselves. Moyes has endured a difficult start to his career at Old Trafford, but back to back wins including a stunning comeback to remain in the Champions League, makes this game more difficult for City than people will expect.
City go into the game back in form too after crashing out of the FA Cup and the Champions League in the space of four days. Wins away at Hull and at home to Fulham at the weekend have boosted the 2012 Premier League winners’ hopes of snatching the title back.
City only face two injury concerns, Matija Nastasic remains out with a mystery injury to his knee, and the game comes just too soon for star striker Sergio Aguero, who is likely to feature against Arsenal on Saturday after spending a month on the side-lines with a hamstring injury.
There will be a few changes to the United team who took 3 points at West Ham, Vidic likely to replace Michael Carrick at centre-back, with the latter sliding in to midfield to replace Darren Fletcher who is unlikely to be risked against the power of Yaya Toure. Rooney will spearhead the red devils attack again with Van Persie out for at least six weeks after being stretchered off against Olympiakos.
I still personally think City will win. United’s defence has looked very unsure when up against a good attacking side which we all know Pellegrini has at his disposal. If City are to get the win they need, they need better performances infront of goal from Alvaro Negredo & Edin Dzeko. Negredo hasn’t scored in his last 8 appearances, and Dzeko hadn’t scored in 17 before his late goal against Hull.
I think Dzeko will start ahead of Negredo, with Toure, Nasri & Silva the three behind the Bosnian, Garcia filling in next to Fernandinho in the middle. Despite their 5-0 win on Saturday, City haven’t been their free-flowing self going forward, and I doubt there will be a hatful of goals in the game, therefore I’m leaning towards City to win and under 2.5 goals.
