Japan v Greece Betting Tips and Predictions

This game looks like a must win for both these sides if they want to progress and we have free World Cup 2014 betting tips.

 

Both Japan and Greece suffered opening day defeats against Ivory Coast and Colombia respectively. Japan did take the lead against the Ivorians before they threw it away to lose 2-1. Greece were well beaten 3-0 by a rampant Colombia side and have a lot of work to do if they are to qualify.

 

Greece weren’t without chances in the first game but they really do struggle in front of goal. They have managed just one goal in their last five matches and have scored just twice ever in World Cups and they both came against Nigeria in 2010 – 7 of their 8 World Cup matches have seen them lose without scoring.

 

Japan are a difficult side to read and were on a six match unbeaten run before they lost to Ivory Coast. They have drawn with Holland and beaten Belgium in the last year or so and definitely have talent in the squad. They will be frustrated that they threw away the lead against Ivory Coast but Greece definitely have less talent in attack than the Ivorians. 

 

This is a tricky match to call, Greece don’t score or concede many while Japan have seen over 2.5 goals in six of their last seven games and have kept just 2 clean sheets in their last 20 matches. I do fancy Japan to win this one though, they just seem to be more adventurous going forward and if they score first, you can’t see Greece turning it around. At 6/5 I can’t quite take Japan outright but with Greece really struggling for goals 13/5 on Japan to win to nil with Betfred is definitely worth taking. 

 

On top of this, with Greece involved, this could very easily be a really poor game. Seven of their last 15 have seen one goal or less scored and with both of these sides managing just a goal between them in their first match, I will be taking under 1.5 goals at 9/4 with Betfred.
