The best of the racing action on Sunday comes from Nottingham and Fakenham with a tip on the flat and one over fences my plan of attack. My attention returns to the racing action on offer this Sunday in search of a pair of winners.

Starting at Nottingham, I can tell you that the Godolphin boys do think Emirates Challenge could be pretty decent. However, with most of the Bin Suroor horses improving for their debut, I would rather side with the William Haggas trained MUBTAGHAA (1/2 SkyBet). He ran a race full of promise when only beaten a quarter of a length on his Ascot debut. We all know the stables horses improve for a run (explaining the 6/1 starting price that day), and if that is the case, he is certainly the one they all have to beat.

Those who like a much risker bet may want to follow me in on the Lucy Wadham trained WATERED SILK (12/1 bet365) who makes his debut over fences at Fakenham in the Novices’ Handicap at 4.00pm. Once pretty decent over hurdles (rated as highly as 124), last season didn’t go so well over hurdles, so they have schooled him at home in Newmarket and send him chasing this season. A rating of 116 could well be very generous if fences rejuvenate the six year-old (who has plenty of years left to mature and improve), and with the more than capable Jack Quinlan talking a useful 3lbs off his back, he may well be thrown in and could be worth a small bet.
