Horse racing betting tips for Channel 4’s live racing coverage on Saturday 14th June.

It seems barely believable that we are mere days away from the Royal meeting once again. Before we do battle with the bookies in Berkshire we have another Saturday's racing on Channel 4 and here are our racing betting tips.

Saturday’s Racing Tips

1.50 Sandown

This stiffer track should help Gothic who got caught flat footed at Goodwood before staying on again over this distance.

Both Agent Murphy and Reedcutter won last time out, the former on his racecourse debut at Bath. Brian Meehan's horses normally come on considerably for their debuts so to see off a pair of rivals rated in the 80's was a very good debut.

1.50 Betting Tip – Agent Murphy E/W

2.05 York

Pearl Castle had a very successful winter campaign over hurdles where he ran two very solid races at Cheltenham and Punchestown. The last time we saw him on the level he was sent off second favourite to Gospel Choir. This is massively weaker, made up of rivals in the main exposed and/or past their best.

Crackentorp is a standing dish in this race, making his fifth consecutive appearance here, winning this contest in 2011 and 2012. He has fallen a long way down the weights since his pomp but will need to show much more than he has so far this season.

2.05 Betting Tip – Pearl Castle

2.20 Sandown

Cape Rosso and Sea Shanty are both recent scorers looking to defy a few extra pounds in the weights. The first named is going for a fourth win on the trot having made every post a winning one at Ripon last time. This field may not be so easy to dominate but the race time there suggests he didn't have a soft time of it on the sharp end.

Brownsea Brink has run solid placed efforts in plenty of similar contests in the past twelve months. He has a C&D win to his credit which came as the middle of a hat trick of wins last summer and he should go well.

2.20 Betting Tip – Brownsea Brink E/W

2.40 York

Spa's Dancer and Sweet Lightning have crossed swords twice already this season with the latter coming out on top both times.

Flow hit the ground running first time out with victory at Ripon but this inbetween trip is perfect for Whispering Warrior who is beginning to look dangerously handicapped again on turf. A little cut in the ground suits him perfectly and with the David Simcock yard firing on all cylinders recently he can outrun his price despite having a bit to find with others in here on this seasons efforts.

2.40 Betting Tip – Whispering Warrior E/W

2.55 Sandown

Extortionist should find this an awful lot easier than taking on the likes of Sole Power and Hot Streak as he did first time out at Newmarket so he makes up our horse racing prediction for the 2.55 at Sandown. He was from disgraced in that red hot Group 3, this stiff five should suit well and last year’s Windsor Palace hero looks massively overpriced.

Strategical was a promising juvenile last season so it will be very interesting to see if he has trained on and Perfect Blessings is interesting dropped to the minimum trip having shown plenty of speed at Haydock last time.

2.55 Betting Tip – Extortionist

3.15 York

Three of these met at Doncaster on Lincoln day with little to choose between them on the formbook. Both Custom Cut and Fencing have run four times each this season, five of those at this level and three times in Group 3's but have yet to be successful.

Guest of Honour was well beaten off in that Doncaster race having been strongly supported in the market beforehand. The absence since suggests that connections weren't happy with something and he should be much closer now and is our racing betting tip for the race.

3.15 Betting Tip – Guest Of Honour

3.35 Musselburgh

Ballesteros has dropped to a dangerous looking handicap mark considering what he is capable of. He needs soft ground to be seen at his very best so if the forecast rain arrived in Edinburgh on Friday he would have a massive chance.

Confessional is another dropping down the weights, arriving back now at the mark from which he was last successful. He ran really well in a hot Listed race at Haydock a fortnight ago and it may be that he is poised to strike.

3.35 Betting Tips – Ballesteros and Confessional both E/W

3.50 York

Eastern Impact has improved steadily for racing this season, winning a decent handicap at Newmarket four weeks ago. On a line through Expert he has the beating of Danzano so looks a lively contender.

Royal Mezyan has already shown good form twice on the Knavesmire and York can often be a marmite course and Charles Molson was less than two lengths behind Eastern Impact at Newmarket having found a bit of trouble in running.

3.50 Betting Tip – Eastern Impact E/W
