Horse racing betting tips for the best bets on Saturday from Sandown's 2.55pm and York's 3.15pm as part of the Channel 4 coverage.

Saturday's coverage on Channel 4 is spread between Sandown, York and Musselburgh and it looks a tough day's action but we've assessed two races and picked out the two best bets of the day.

Sandown 2.55pm Betting Tip

Firstly, over to Sandown for the 2:55pm Scurry Stakes and our first racing tip of the day.  This Listed contest over 5f normally offers up a good opportunity for some of racing's top sprinters to gain a victory before going on to bigger things later in the season.  This year's line-up looks to be strong and the contest should be very competitive.  The draw could be a crucial factor here and being drawn low tends to give those horses a distinct advantage.  A number of the market principles such as G Force, Strategical, Speedfiend and Wind Fire are all drawn out wide and any of those will have to be extremely good to win from their stall positions.  With that in mind, AMBIANCE looks an interesting option in the hope that he can turn round his recent poor form.  He finished down the field on reappearance and may well have needed the run.  Last year he ran in the top 2yo races and also notched up a C&D win in Listed company.  That form puts him on a similar level with the best in this race and hopefully he should give a good account of himself at generous odds.

York 3.15pm Betting Tip

The 3:15 Ganton Stakes is the feature race at York, another Listed contest, this time over 1m for horses aged three and above.  On paper, it looks to be a very close race based on the ratings but FENCING could well end up the victor.  Custom Cut and Guest Of Honour both need to reverse the form with the selection and, the only other horse who looks to be a realistic danger is Lockwood.  He however has only raced over a 1m once and was unsuccessful so his ability to perform well over the trip is still questionable. This type of race looks to be the ideal opportunity for Fencing and, based on the fact that he goes on any ground and has ran well at the track before, he should have too much for this small field.
