AMBIVALENT (3/1 William Hill) won this race last year when gamely holding off all comers as she was strongly pressed close home. She has already shown form to at least that level this season, winning at York before a fine third behind Cirrus Des Aigles in the Coronation Cup at Epsom. She looks as if she will get the run of the race with a lack of other front runners and she proves her most dangerous if granted a soft lead.

Just The Judge (8/1 bet365) has been lacking a little speed at a crucial stage this season but has been noted staying on over shorter. Her only previous attempt at the trip saw her well beaten although with that came at Goodwood and i'm more than happy to forgive poor runs there due to the unique track. Nevertheless, she needs to step up on what she has shown this season but the yard are finally starting to show some signs of life.

Thistle Bird (9/2 SkyBet) beat the aforementioned runner over a furlong shorter at Epsom when last seen having previously finished behind Ambivalent at York. She is versatile with regards to underfoot conditions but she is yet to win in four starts over this trip and has got into a habit of following a good run with a moderate effort.

Venus De Milo (4/1 William Hill) is Joseph O'Brien's and was a comfortable winner of the Munster Oaks a fortnight ago. She relishes quick ground, has some excellent Group 1 placed efforts to her name and is lightly enough raced to still have improvement left on the tank. The main downside is that her best form has been over 1m4f so the drop back in trip is a question mark.

Marvellous (5/1 SkyBet) was very impressive when winning the Irish 1,000 Guineas at this track at the end of May but was below par at Epsom in The Oaks. She doesn't look the stable's first pick on jockey bookings and the first time headgear is another imponderable.
