AZ Alkmaar v ADO Den Haag – Both Teams to Score? Yes

We're anticipating goals in this Dutch Eredivisie game as ADO Den Haag and AZ meet. ADO Den Haag are struggling and that's partly down to their leaky defence. The away side have kept just once clean sheet all season, that was surprisingly at home to Feyenoord. AZ have kept just two clean sheets, the last of those being away at Vitesse, who were playing over 45 minutes with ten men. Both teams have scored in 11 of ADO Den Haag's last 14 games and although AZ somewhat surprisngly failed to score at the weekend, it was away at PSV, so they can be forgiven. Four of AZ's last five matches have featured more than three goals and we fancy this one to add a few more to their respective totals. 

 

Gent v Zulte-Wagerem – Over 2.5 goals 

We're back in the Belgian league for a Friday night, a place we regularly find plenty of goals. Zulte Wagerem are in action for the second Friday night running. Seven days ago, they lost 2-3 at home to Standard Liege and we're hoping the entertainment comes once again. Gent have only failed to score once all season and that's part of the reason why they are sitting top of the table on 36 points. They are the second highest scorers after Club Brugge and hit five in their last home games against Westerlo. Zulte Wagerem are a significantly better opponent and will play their part in the game, having scored just two fewer goals than tonight's opponents. Their problem is keeping them out – as they displayed last Friday. They've kept just four clean sheets with three of those coming at home. This one should be entertaining. 

 

Glenavon v Carrick Rangers – Over 2.5 goals 

A rare visit to the Northern Irish Premier League for this third selection as strugglers Carrick Rangers visit Glenavon. Despite sitting second bottom of the table, Carrick Rangers bring their fair share of entertainment. They've scored in all of their last four away games and only failed to notch away from home three times all season. These were against Crusaders, Glentoran & Cliftonville, all who top the defensive charts. Their last three matches have all finished with three goals or more. Glenavon sit 5th and have been playing reasonably well recently. They failed to score at Glentoran last time out, but apart from one, all of their home games have gone over 2.5 goals and they've scored three or more goals in all of their last five home matches. Carrick Rangers are yet to keep a clean sheet this season, so we could see some goals in Northern Ireland. 

 

Ipswich v Middlesbrough – Ipswich (+1) Handicap 

There's something about Portman Road which Middlesbrough don't like. They rarely win here, in fact they haven't won here in any of their last six visits and have lost the last three. The Tractor Boys are back on form after going seven games without a victory, they've picked up maximum points in three of their last four games with a 2-2 draw wjth Wolves inbetween. Mick McCarthy has got Daryl Murphy scoring again, which will delight the home fans and as we saw last season, he's hard to stop when he's on song. Middlesbrough have been decent this season, but they often struggle on the road at better opponents in this division. They also lost 2-0 to Everton in the Cup in midweek and may be showing signs of fatigue as this Friday night kick off is not ideal for them, especially such a long trip. I think the Suffolk side can take advantage of this. 

 

Achilles 29 v FC Eindhoven – FC Eindhoven win 

FC Eindhoven are somewhat of away specialists in the Holland Jupiler League and they beat The Go Ahead Eagles last time on the road. Achilles are out of form and despite picking up three consecutive draws, they are finding it hard to finish off games and close them out. Their last win was back on the 24th August and although they have held some decent teams here, the recent form of the visitors gives me enough confidence to back them. They've won four of their last five away games, scoring a minimum of two goals in each of their victories. They did lose to VVV, but they are bang in form and are very difficult to beat at the minute. Even though they've only kept four clean sheets, that's the fifth best in this division and I think they'll have too much for their beleagured opponents.
