Bayern winning the Bundesliga has been a foregone conclusion for the last few years and they duly delivered another title with several games remaining. Despite their domestic dominance, injuries have plagued their season and they have missed key players for long periods of the campaign. Nonetheless, their home form in Europe has been remarkable and they have recorded a 7-0 victory over Shakhtar and a 6-1 win against Porto in the previous rounds. Bayern have relied heavily on their performances at the Allianz arena in the knockout stages. Their displays away from home have been disjointed and lacking in the verve and attacking intent that characterises their style of play. I feel that Pep would dearly love to beat his former employers, but I feel he would absolutely hate to lose. Bayern will set up to be competitive, but ultimately to try and contain Barca’s attacking talent. With Robben out, and Ribery and Lewandowski doubtful, I feel Bayern will lack a cutting edge in attack and ultimately my Barcelona v Bayern Munich predictions is that Barcelona will win.
