Aston Villa v Norwich Betting Tips and Predictions

Mid-table but still relegation threatened Aston Villa and Norwich face off at Villa Park this Sunday and we free football have betting tips.

Villa and Norwich sit 13th and 14th respectively both only four points off the dreaded 18th place and watching these teams play last week it was easy to see why they are both struggling.

Paul Lambert's Villa played out perhaps the most low quality game I've watched all season. Newcastle were poor also but at least they injected some effort into their performance and were rewarded with a last minute winner.

Villa meanwhile sleepwalked through the game. They didn't even seem to be trying to try. Villa are set up as a counter-attacking side and with Newcastle defending deep Villa's complete lack of a plan B was painfully evident. You can bet that Norwich will have noted this and won't be holding a high defensive line.

Now typically, a home game would be an opportunity for the Villa to bounce back to form immediately but Villa Park has been happy hunting for away sides all season. Villa have only picked up 11 points at home all season. Add to this the fact that they haven't won a game since beating WBA 4-3 almost a month ago.

Norwich meanwhile played out a similarly poor match against Tottenham. Unlike Villa though they won their match 1-0. Although Norwich aren't a good side Chris Houghton's teams can be at least be relied upon to work hard. Against tactically limited sides this along with the bit of quality that Leroy Fer and Snodgrass offer can often be sufficient for a win.

A Villa win is priced by bet365 at 1/1 whilst a draw is 23/10 and a Norwich win is 14/5 at the same provider.

Considering how bad Villa are at home and how bad they were last weekend odds of 1/1 are ridiculously short. Villa cannot be backed at those odds even if you thought they would win which I don't believe they will.

Norwich meanwhile are a better team than those odds suggest. I could see them winning this match especially given how poor Villa are at home. I'd back Norwich to win with draw no bet. This comes in at 13/8 with skybet.

Now there aren't going to be many goals in this match. Neither side are free scoring. Villa haven't scored in three games. Norwich have scored once in three games. A correct score of 0-0 comes in at 17/2 with skybet. If you want to give yourself a one goal cushion though under 1.5 goals comes in at 2/1 with bet365.
