2015 Tingle Creek Betting Trends & Free Tips

2015 Tingle Creek Betting Trends & Free Tips The Betfair-sponsored Tingle Creek Chase is run over a trip of 2m and is staged at Sandown Park racecourse on 5th December 2015. The race is always considered a good guide to the Queen Mother Champion Chase run at the Cheltenham Festival later in the season – in recent years Master Minded (2008), Moscow Flyer (2004), Sprinter Sacre (2012) and Dodging Bullets (2014) are the last horses to do the Tingle Creek/Champion Chase double in the same season.

Horse racing trends expert Andy Newton takes a look back a recent winners and gives you the key Tingle Creek Chase stats to look out for ahead of the 2015 renewal – this year run on Saturday 5th December.

FREE HORSE RACING TIP: Surprisingly top Irish trainer Willie Mullins has never won the Tingle Creek Chase, and it looks like that will bestaying that way after his class UN DE SCEAUX was pulled out of the race earlier in the week. His 7 year-old was an impressive winner of the Arkle Chase at the Cheltenham Festival last season and followed that up with another smooth victory in the Ryanair Novice Chase at Punchestown back in April, but we'll have to wait a bit longer after Mullins reporting the horse a little flat in himself and will not make the trip over.

His entry has already scared off Sprinter Sacre, with connections preferring to wait until Kempton over Christmas to run the 2012 winner of this race – something they might be regreting now. To be fair Nicky Henderson is right when he says that after getting the horse back to his best the last thing he needs at this stage is a tough race in potentially soft ground against one of the improving horses in this division.

However, with Un De Sceaux now out of the race that has made the contest more open with Paul Nicholls' VIBRATO VALTAT now the clear favourite.

VIBRATO VALTAT (Bet here with Betfair) was a nice winner at Exeter last time out in the Haldon Chase and looks a big player on that run. Yes, this will be harder, but the horse is a proven CD winner here at Sandown and his stable know what it takes to win this race – they’ve landed the prize a staggering 9 times! Sam Twiston-Davies rides and on recent form is the one to beat and give Nicholls his 10th win in the race.

Of the rest, Nicky Henderson’s Simonsig looked to have a huge future in this sphere until injury ruled him out of from the end of 2013 until Nov 2015. He returned at Aintree over hurdles to run stablemate – Bobs Worth – close and with the expected improvement is not a totally back number if finding his old 2013 chase form. Don’t forget he’s unbeaten (3 from 3) over fences too. The 2013 winner Sire De Grugy is also worth a second glance, but does need to put a few lack-lustre runs behind him to figure, but is unbeaten from three runs over fences at Sandown.
