World Cup 2014- Top Betting Tips Sunday 22nd June

Our top picks are here again as we reach the business end of the World Cup and provide our best World Cup 2014 betting tips.
Russia v Belgium 5pm
The night begins with what could be a vital clash in Group H. Both of these sides will be hoping to qualify and if you finish 2nd a last 16 game with Germany looks likely.
Russia hardly impressed in their opening game as they drew 1-1 with South Korea. They took a while to get going and it took substitutes Dzagoev and Kerkhakov to turn the tide. There was a horrific error from goalkeeper Akinfeev and they know defeat here will mean they need to beat Algeria on the last day.
This may be no easy task as Belgium learnt in their opener. The Belgians were also slow out of the traps and a horrible error from Tottenham’s Jan Vertonghen allowed Algeria to take the lead from the penalty spot. They rallied in the second half though with Fellaini and Mertens the catylsts off the bench.
Both sides will have probably learnt from their mistakes in their opener and a win could be massive for either side. If Belgium make it 2 wins in 2 they should be all but through while Russia know it will put them in a strong position to qualify.
It has been 4 years since these two sides last met and Belgium were victorious that day. You have to go back to 2011 for Belgium’s last competitive defeat and I fancy them to prevail here after watching the two sides and are a good price at 19/20 with Bet365.

Algeria v South Korea 8pm
These two sides will both be desperately hoping for a Belgium win and then know that if they win they can qualify for the next round.
Both sides were impressive in their openers with Algeria pushing Belgium all the way before falling to a 2-1 defeat and South Korea’s hard work in the middle of the park was very impressive and the performance deserved at least the point that they got.

The bookies can’t separate the sides in terms of the win market and neither can I. South Korea have kept just 3 clean sheets in 15 matches though and when Russia came at them late on they did look uncertain with the goalkeeper especially shaky. Both teams have also scored in Algeria’s last three games showing neither are brilliant at the back.
As I said, both sides know they need a win to have any realistic chance of progressing so may go for it as a consequence. Both teams to score is at Evens with William Hill and is worth a bet here.

USA v Portugal 11pm
Finally, comes a must win game for Portugal in Group G. Portugal were toothless in their 4-0 stuffing at the hands of Germany and would have wanted better even though they were on 10 men.
With USA winning in their first game, if they don’t win here they could be of the tournament, safe to say this is massive for Ronaldo and co. There were rumours the Portuguese talisman wouldn’t make it but he now looks set to play some part.
USA were very impressive in beating Ghana and their wave after wave after attack. They were a bit uncertain in defence at times but deserved the 3 points. Portugal should provide a much bigger test.
I do fancy Portugal to get that win and set up a nervy final day against Ghana but USA could certainly score here. USA have managed 12 goals in 7 matches now but Portugal did score 5 in two of their 4 World Cup warm-up matches.
Portugal to win and Over 2.5 goals is 8/5 with William Hill and is my final bet for Sunday’s World Cup action.
