Fresh off their first Champions League victory in five year Liverpool travel down south to London to face Sam Allardyce's West Ham and we have some free football betting tips.
Captain Steven Gerrard came out after the narrow 2-1 win over Ludogorets Razgrad and said that Liverpool “had a lot to learn”. For a footballer talking about his own club that ranks as a rare moment of honesty.
Liverpool have won two lost two in the league and only really looked good in the easy win over Tottenham.
West Ham meanwhile have won one, draw one lost one and at time this season have looked generally poor in doing so.
With this in mind the bookies have Liverpool priced up as the favourites coming in at 5/6 with William Hill despite being away from home. The draw is available at 14/5 with Ladbrokes whilst the West Ham victory is available with Coral at 4/1.
Liverpool are clearly the better side but I'm not optimistic about their chances here and I think the odds are poorly priced up. A big reason for Liverpool's success last season was the lack of European football meant they were only playing once a week.
This kept them fresh and allowed them to be as well prepared as possible. They head down to West Ham though after playing their first Champions League match in five seasons and they are missing their best striker in Daniel Sturridge.
West Ham meanwhile go into this game with no pressure on them and for once the fans will be accepting of Sam Allardyce being cautious. Allardyce essentially admitted this after Monday's game where he said that they wanted to tighten up at the back.
West Ham are going to sit back and keep things incredibly right and given Liverpool's tired legs this might just work. Remember this is the exact gameplan that worked so well for Aston Villa last week.
I'd look at West Ham +1 which is available at 23/20 with bet365. I'd also look at the half time score of 0-0 which is available at 9/4 with Ladbrokes.
Outside of the result one player I'd be backing to score anytime is Liverpool Captain Steven Gerrard. Not only does he take all the set pieces and penalties but he also has a great goalscoring record against West Ham. Gerrard has netted seven times in the Premier League against West Ham with six of these coming at the Boleyn Ground. He also scored the winner against them in the FA Cup. Gerrard has great memories of scoring against West Ham and I'd wouldn't be a great surprise if he was to add to his tally at the weekend. Gerrard to score anytime is available at 3/1 with bet365.
