West Brom v West Ham Preview

With a handful of big names out of the competition already, the FA Cup only offers an excellent opportunity of silverware for several teams that have not always taken the tournament so seriously. With a chance of progressing to the quarter-finals, it will be interesting to see where the priorities of West Brom and West Ham lie this weekend.

Since booking their place in the next round thanks to a hard fought victory at St Andrews against Birmingham City last month, The Baggies form has been mixed with a win, draw and a loss apiece in the Premier League. However, over the last two games there have been early signs of a fruitful partnership in attack between record signing Brown Ideye and Saido Berahino.  Both strikers combined well for the goals in the 2-0 victory over Swansea in midweek and should get the nod up front again this weekend.

For opponents West Ham, their fourth round victory over Bristol City preceded a nasty trio of league fixtures against Liverpool, Manchester United and Southampton in the Premier League. Despite losing at Anfield, The Hammers recorded back to back draws which included playing the last 30 minutes of their stalemate at St Mary's with ten men. Goalkeeper Adrian was the man at fault and will have to sit out the FA Cup clash at The Hawthorns.

Early odds for Saturday's clash and there is very little to choose between the two sides. West Brom are slight favourites at a best priced 6/4, with West Ham trading around 2/1 with most bookmakers. The draw is on offer at 5/2, and considering six of the last ten meetings have ended that way, could well be a sensible option for our West Brom v West Ham predictions. However, with a relegation battle on his hands, the last thing Tony Pulis will need is a tricky reply at Upton Park. For this reason I am edging towards a West Brom victory on Saturday.

Therefore, back Pulis' men to pick up the win at 6/4 with Betfred for our first West Brom v West Ham FA Cup betting tip this weekend.

Moving into the goalscoring market, and having previously touched on the form of Brown Ideye, I can see the Nigerian international continuing in the same vain this weekend. Fortunately the Cup game falls under Betfred's potentially lucrative DD/HH promotion and Ideye is very well priced to score first at 11/2. If he does score first then nets again you’ll get double the odds, a hat-trick gets you treble odds.

Brown Ideye is our first goalscorer prediction for this weekend's West Brom vs West Ham FA Cup match and we're using Betfred's double delight/hat-trick heaven promotion.
