3.40 Newmarket

Our first tip comes in the Group 3 Somerville Tattersall Stakes over seven furlongs for 2yo’s where VALLEY OF FIRE (9/2 bet365) looks more than capable of claiming this prize. I’m fortunate enough to know a rider who rode out for William Haggas over the summer and piloted this colt, describing him as the fastest horse he’s ever sat on, with the trainer also confident in this horses’ ability.

On his first start he showed an excellent turn of foot to see off his rivals, with the runner-up going on to frank the form. Valley Of Fire was significantly stepped up in class after that fine effort and finished a solid second at York. The selection looked slightly outpaced in the early stages and stayed on well, with the extra furlong on offer here likely to suit greatly.

Valley Of Fire does have to overturn the form with Mubtaghaa who won well at York, however the latter had experience on his side that day and could be caught by here by other improving horses.

3.55 Perth

With the winter months getting nearer, the major jumping action is beginning to ramp up, with some trying to get ahead of their rivals early on.

SPLASH OF GINGE (11/10 Betfred) had a fantastic novice hurdling campaign last season, winning the Betfair Hurdle at Newbury and finishing second in a Grade 1 contest at Aintree. The plan has always been to go chasing with the gelding and he looks to make an imposing mark on his rivals. His ability is clear for all to see over the smaller obstacles and, his tendency to balloon the odd obstacle should make the transition to fences a smooth one.

Ainsi Fideles has been summer jumping several times over the past few months, and currently bids to land a five-timer. However, he hasn’t faced rivals of this class and should find it difficult to secure another victory.
