Today’s Expert Horse Racing Lucky 15 Tips

2.15pm Thurles

We start with the opening contest on the card, a Beginner’s Chase that lacks strength and depth and looks like the perfect opportunity for DEANO (13/8 bet365) to build on his second place effort on his debut over fences. Mary Louise Hallahan is more than capable at getting her horses ready and with Davy Russell in good form the Oscar Schindler gelding may well take some beating. He was unlucky not to hold on for the win last time out and should improve for the experience.

3.55pm Thurles

Although he has disappointed since making the move to the UK, a chance is taken on ALISIER D’IRLANDE (Evs bet365) to make amends and collect on his return to Ireland. Henry De Bromhead seems to bring about improvement in a lot of horses that switch to his yard and Roger Brookhouse will be hoping his expensive purchase can triumph here.

4.30pm Thurles

An old favourite that hasn’t quite sparkled this year is the Mouse Morris runner FIRST LIEUTENANT (4/7 Paddy Power). He’s been plying his trade at the Cheltenham Festival over the last few years as well as winning a memorable Betfair Bowl at Aintree in 2013. This is a massive step down in class and he should have more than enough in hand to account for his rivals here, considering how well in the weights he is.

5.35pm Thurles

Jamie Codd, fresh from two winners at the Cheltenham Festival takes the ride on a newcomer ON THE QT (8/1 Paddy Power) from the Denise Foster stable and may well prove to be the one to beat here. Codd has had a great year on the track as well as between the flags and Foster is more than capable of producing some nice types, a combination which such succeed in what looks to be an average affair.
