It’s Thursday and there is bundles more horse racing today, with excellent afternoon cards at Salisbury, including their Group Three Sovereign Stakes, plus Beverley and Fontwell go in the afternoon, while Lingfield and Ffos Las provide the evening horse racing action.

Horse racing tipping expert, Andy Newton, gives you his free horse racing tips and best bets this Thursday (13th Aug) across today’s fixtures.

Today’s Horse Racing Tips

Beverley Racing Tips –

2.00 – Beverley – The Mark Johnston camp too this race in 2010 and with a 24% record at the track then their CASSANDANE (e/w) (Bet here at 7/2 with Betfred) is the call here. This 3 year-olds is expected to improve for the step up in trip and is running off a career-low mark here – getting a lot of weight all-round.

BET NOW – CASSANDANE (e/w)

4.05 – Beverley – A Sir Mark Prescott-trained horse beat Duke Street last time out so that yard should know where they stand with that horse- They send SEA OF HEAVEN (Bet here at 5/4 with Ladbrokes) to post here and after getting off the mark last time comes here in cracking form – the stable also won this in 2005.

BET NOW – SEA OF HEAVEN

Fontwell Racing Tips –

2.45 – Fontwell – The Harry Fry team have a cracking 36% record with their runners at Fontwell and despite not being on the track for 101 days their A COR ET A CRI (Bet here at 15/8 with Betfair) is the pick. The horse was a good second last time out at Kempton and remains lightly-raced – any rain would be a plus too.

BET NOW – A COR ET A CRI

4.45 – Fontwell – The John Ferguson team look to hold a big chance here – this time with AMIRR (Bet here at 5/6 with 888Sport). The horse has won it’s last two and despite having to give weight away all-round the yard out up Alex Ferguson, who takes off a handy 7lbs from the saddle. Nicky Henderson’s Oh So Gigolo is the danger.

BET NOW – AMIRR

Salisbury Racing Tips –

2.55 – Salisbury – Tony Carroll’s Zeteah is the only previous CD winner in the field so is respected, but we like Roger Varian’s DELAIRE (Bet here at 5/1 with Betfair) here. The horse comes here off the back of a decent third last time out and the pound drop in the ratings and step up in trip are big plusses.

BET NOW – DELAIRE (e/w)

4.25 – Salisbury – Clive Cox’s KODI BEAR (Bet here at 11/4 with Paddy Power) stands out here – the horse gets plenty of weight from the principles and is actually one of the higher-rated in the line-up too. Gerald Mosse has been booked to ride so that’s another plus and he’s unlikely to be just flying over from France for a day out.

BET NOW – KODI BEAR

Andrew Balding has won the race in 2003, 2011 & 2012

Lingfield Racing Tips –

5.45 – Lingfield – MIRROR CITY (Bet here at 11/10 with Betfair) looks the safest option here after coming third on debut. We can expect this Godolphin-trained 2 year-old to improve for that run and James Doyle makes the trip to ride.

BET NOW – MIRROR CITY

6.15 – Lingfield – SUBTLE KNIFE (Bet here at 22/1 with Coral) has been running over further so the drop back to 7f is a big positive – the horse is the only CD winner in the line-up and jockey Paddy Pilley, who claims 7lbs, gets on well with the horse too, while, finally, the Giles Bravely have an eye-catching 44% record with their runners at the track.

BET NOW – SUBTLE KNIFE (e/w)

Ffos Las Racing Tips –

5.00 – Ffos Las – Ralph Beckett has his horses in decent order and we can expect better from his MATIDIA (Bet here at 8/1 with William Hill) here after a debut seventh. The horse would have been taught a lot from that run and this race looks a tad easier. Richard Kingscote takes over in the saddle.

BET NOW – MATIDIA

6.00 – Ffos Las – The Ed de Giles team need some change of luck, but their TWENTY ONE CHOICE (Bet here at 10/1 with Paddy Power) can hopefully change that for them here. The horse has been hard to win with, but continues to drop to a very decent mark and in a race that doesn’t look the strongest that’s another plus for the horse.

BET NOW – TWENTY ONE CHOICE (e/w)
