The Best Betting Tips for Aintree Races on Friday

Sprinter Sacre.jpg

The annual Aintree meeting is well into its swing by the time Friday rolls around, with people already looking forward to the big John Smiths Grand National race, but don’t overlook Fridays cards with it having some good racing and also, one or two possible superstars in the running.

After a tough day for punters yesterday today's card has two short price favourites that should take all the beating.

2:00 Rose Appeal Supports Alder Hey Top Novices´ Hurdle

The first race sees a renewal of a few horses who ran against each other on the opening race of the Cheltenham festival a few weeks back, where My Tent or Yours was soundly beaten by Champagne Fever, Dodging Bullets never got into the race and deserved his 9th place finish. There was a lot of “form” so to speak in this race but after the declerations it looks a stroll in the park for My Tent or Yours. Some of those include Pique Sous and Art of Logistics. My Tent or Yours is a very short price now but he will take all the beating, consider a forecast.

Selection – My Tent or Yours at 4/9 with Betfred

2:30 John Smith´s Mildmay Novices´ Chase

The next race is the John Smiths Mildmay Chase, which sees a number of good horses taking party. At 3m 1f it’s very much a “stayers” race, which will fall into the path of horses such as Rocky Creek and Super Duty. However, after his performance at Cheltenham on Soft ground, there will be questions raised about Dynaste. However he is a top performer over the fences and his jumping may well win him this race. However, if it becomes a staying race and a battle, I will be giving the nod to Super Duty. I am struggling to pick between Dynaste and Super Duty at the moment so those are my two picks for this race.

Tips:

Dynaste at 7/4 with RaceBets

Super Duty at 7/1 with Ladbrokes

3:05 John Smith´s Melling Chase

The 3:05 is the feature race of the day and what a race in prospect this is. With 3 absolute superstars turning out but with one being the target to aim at. Sprinter Sacre showed again at Cheltenham why he is as good as he is with superb jumping and romping home numerous lengths in front of a very talented Sizing Europe, and at 3/10 the price reflects that performance. However, Cue Card, another impressive winner at Cheltenham steps up to the plate to take him on and if anyone can stick with Sprinter Sacre for pace across this trip it is Cue Card.

If he has come through Cheltenham not too tired, I expect it to be the closest anyone has go to Sprinter Sacre for a while. However, there is also Flemenstar. Travelling over from Ireland (considering he doesn’t travel well apparently) is a sign that his trainer and connections have faith in him. He has been beaten recently over 3m and looked absolutely shattered at the end of the trip and will most certainly enjoy the drop in trip. Also on his favour is he comfortably beat Sir Des Champs (2nd in Gold Cup) over this trip. He is highly thought of across in Ireland and he jumps like an absolute dream and if he goes the gallop, he could also push Sprinter Sacre close. I will be backing Flemenstar as an “interest” bet to see how he goes against the top clash British horses, but how do you oppose the superstar Sprinter Sacre?

Pick – Flemenstar 7/1 (and f/c with Sprinter Sacre) with Paddy Power

3:40 John Smith´s Topham Chase Handicap

Then comes a wide open Handicap Chase. These races can be viewed as one or two things. A pain in the backside to pick the winner, or, a good opportunity to find some good value each-way bets. Paul Nicholls has many horses in this and one that looks interesting is the one Ruby Walsh is booked onto which is There’s No Panic at 16/1. As I say it’s a very tough race and I will just be having two each-way bets.

Each-way picks

There’s No Panic 14/1 with Betfred

Little Josh 14/1 with RaceBets

4:15 Pick – Master of the Sea 8/1 with Bet Victor
