The Best Bets in the Premier League for Sunday 07 April

There are five Premier League matches taking place this afternoon and we bring your our best bet in each:

Liverpool vs West Ham (1.30pm)

The Reds have won seven of their last nine home league matches and are likely to approach this match in confident mood.  Contrast that to West Ham who have picked up just ten points from their last ten games, and who have scored a miserly nine goals away from home in the league this season.  That away scoring record is unlikely to improve today given the absence of Andy Carroll, who under the terms of his loan deal is unable to play against his parent club.  Expect Liverpool to put this game to bed with relative ease.

Best bet:  Liverpool to win to nil – 13/10 with BetVictor

Tottenham vs Everton (2.05pm)

Both sides will need to do without the services of key players today, notably Gareth Bale and Marouane Fellaini.  Quite how AVB and David Moyes will approach the game is anyone’s guess, with the one certainty being that both sides need to go for the three points in their respective quests for Champions League places.  This game could be settled by just the one goal although predicting the outcome is tricky.  With no Bale or Defoe for the home side, the goalscoring responsibility will lie with Adebayor and he rates as a decent bet to find the net.

Best bet:  Emmanuel Adebayor to score anytime – 15/8 with bet365

Chelsea vs Sunderland (3.00pm)

Paulo Di Canio’s first match in charge of Sunderland is a difficult visit to Stamford Bridge, not least because they are missing captain Lee Cattermole and top scorer Steven Fletcher.  Chelsea are looking to make it five home league wins on the spin, and in all probability, they will.  The Blues have a great record against Sunderland, winning 15 of their last 16 league encounters.  Expect a convincing home win but don’t be surprised if Sunderland find the net.  They have scored in nine of their last ten away league matches.

Best bet:  Both Teams To Score – 11/10 with Coral

Newcastle Utd vs Fulham (3.00pm)

This is not an easy match for Newcastle as they push for points to get away from the relegation zone.  The Magpies will be glad to return to home turf, where they have won their last three, after two consecutive defeats on the road.  Fulham travel north in good form though and will prove a stern test for Alan Pardew’s side; the Cottagers have taken 11 points from their last five matches.  Key to Fulham’s good recent run has been Dimitar Berbatov who has scored in each of his last four games.  Against a Newcastle defence who haven’t kept a clean sheet at home this year, Berbatov can increase his tally for the season.

Best bet:  Dimitar Berbatov to score anytime – 12/5 with Sky Bet

QPR vs Wigan (4.10pm)

This is a massive game at the foot of the table for two sides for whom relegation looks ever likely.  However Wigan have proven time and again that when it comes to avoiding the drop they are master escapologists, and a trip to Loftus Road will certainly hold no fears for Roberto Martinez and his players.  QPR's last home league match saw them record a 3-1 victory over Sunderland, their only home win in 2013.  Wigan look ever resiliant on the road, losing only one of their last five away matches.  The value lies in backing the away side to all but consign QPR to the drop.

Best bet:  Wigan to win – 9/4 with Betfred
