There are six 3pm kick-offs in the Premier League this Saturday, and having looked in detail at each of the fixtures and the betting markets we bring you our best single bets:
Fulham vs Reading
Fulham have picked up just one point from their last six matches and despite reaching the 40-point mark, The Cottagers are not yet mathematically safe from the drop. Martin Jol will demand nothing less that a home victory over a Reading side who are playing only for pride having been relegated last weekend.
Best Bet: Fulham to win – 3/4 with BetVictor
Norwich vs Aston Villa
What a huge game this is for two sides battling relegation and separated by a single point. Norwich will be desperate to end a run of poor form that has seen them win only one of their last eight matches. Villa, on the other hand, are getting results and are slowly clawing their way to safety. Paul Lambert’s side have won four of their last seven matches and will look to build on that 6-1 demolition job over Sunderland. Christian Benteke is Villa’s top scorer and will be a major threat. He should get on the scoresheet again.
Best Bet: Christian Benteke to score anytime – 9/5 with BetVictor
Swansea vs Man City
Not a lot to play for at the Liberty Stadium as Swansea, who have failed to win any of their last six matches, host Man City who will look for a victory to strengthen their grip on second place. Michael Laudrup will be keen for his side to return to form before the season is over, but I think a victory over City will be beyond them. Mancini’s side should win this.
Best Bet: Man City to win – 4/5 with William Hill
Tottenham vs Southampton
As Spurs continue to chase a Champions League place, they welcome a Southampton side not yet safe from relegation. Until last weekend Saints were unbeaten in six matches, but they were brought back down to earth with a 3-0 drubbing at home to West Brom. They will be keen to bounce back from that defeat, but White Hart Lane is a difficult place for any team to pick up points and the home support will demand nothing less than three points. AVB’s side look likely to oblige by at least a couple of goals.
Best Bet: Tottenham -1.5 Asian Handicap – 13/10 with bet365
West Brom vs Wigan
Wigan need three points from this game, anything less leaves their Premier League status hanging by a thread. West Brom’s mid-table finish is assured and they will look to build on an impressive away victory at Southampton last weekend. Wigan have failed to win any of their last four matches and are five points from safety. Having said that the Latics were desperately close to three points against Spurs at White Hart Lane last weekend, and manager Roberto Martinez will be confident of at least a point at The Hawthorns.
Best Bet: Wigan +0.5 Asian Handicap – 13/20 with BetVictor
West Ham vs Newcastle
The fact that The Hammers have lost only one of their last seven league matches at Upton Park must be a cause for concern in the mind of Alan Pardew as he attempts to steer a safe passage to Premier League survival for his Newcastle side. The Magpies are one of three teams on 37 points and worryingly for their fans have lost four of their last seven matches, with their last outing being a 6-0 humiliation at home to Liverpool. West Ham are not yet safe themselves but they know that a victory should confirm their place in the Premier League next season. Newcastle look likely to travel back north empty-handed from this one.
Best Bet: West Ham to win – 7/5 with William Hill
