Swansea v Everton predictions and free football betting tips for the weekend’s Premier League fixture.

The opening match of this week's Premier League schedule sees Swansea entertain Everton at The Liberty Stadium. The match is live on BT Sport at 12:45 and here are some free football betting tips.

Swansea v Everton Predictions

At the start of the season, few would have predicted that Swansea would hold a nine point advantage over Everton come this time of the year. However, this is exactly where they stand today. It has been a fairly successful season for The Swans considering they were heavily tipped as potential strugglers earlier in the year. Currently sat in 8th place in the league, it is safe to say that they won't challenge any of the team's above them, but equally unlikely they will finish the season in the bottom half of the table.

The Welsh side have also been in decent form over the last few games, with Gary Monk's men winning four of their last six matches, and their only two defeats coming at the hands of two top six sides in the shape of Spurs and Liverpool. However, Monk will have been fairly aggrieved not to have picked up points in either of those games, with the narrow loss to Liverpool particularly unfortunate considering his team's excellent performance on the night.

In contrast, opponents Everton have had a disappointing campaign so far and have barely made it out of the bottom half of the Premier League all season. Although The Toffees did put a decent run together in the Europa League, but this was cut short in brutal fashion at the hands of Dynamo Kiev a couple of weeks ago.

Nevertheless, Roberto Martinez's men have strung together three wins on the bounce in the league, with last week's victory over Southampton particularly impressive. Whilst this run may have come a little too late with regards to challenging for Europe, a top ten finish is a distinct possibility. They will of course need to be at their best to beat an in-form Swansea side in South Wales, but they do have an imperious record over their hosts on Saturday.

Odds for the clash on Saturday lunchtime have very little to choose between the two sides. Swansea are marginal favourites at a best price of 31/20. Everton can be backed at 2/1, with the draw on offer at 23/10.

Based on their league position and current form, one would expect Swansea to pick up the three points. However, as previously mentioned, Everton are also on a fine little run themselves and have only lost once to Swansea in their last 22 matches in all competitions. With this is mind, the draw may well be the most sensible option. Therefore back the match to end all square at a best price of 23/10 with Sky Bet. As with many strikers, confidence is key, and providing he can avoid feinting on the half-way-line again, I wouldn't be surprised in Gomis keeps this run going a little longer.
