Following a prolonged period of poor form, Stoke have plummeted like the proverbial stone towards the foot of the Premier League table and they now lie in 15th place, just three points ahead of third-bottom Wigan and Sunderland.  The Potters have lost nine of the twelve league matches they have played this year, and worryingly for the home support, have kept only two clean sheets in their last sixteen league games.
