Animal Kingdom has hardened at the top of the market in recent days with the news that Cityscape is now out of the race after suffering a setback.
With the connections of Farhh still undecided on which race he is likely to turn up in the market is a hard one to get heavily involved in, with the favourite looking a more than likely winner despite his short price.
As discussed in the first preview of the race, there are plenty of question marks over most of the runners and any value to be found could be at big prices with horses that are likely to turn up on the day. The fillies still in contention at this stage would need to step up on the pick of their form to win but ELUSIVE KATE would be the most interesting contender if she takes her chance in the race. She has ran well against the colts in the past at the top level and is a genuine top class miler. She could provide some value at around 20/1 (with Sporting Bet) but at this stage is perhaps a risky betting proposition having not raced yet this season and her intended targets unconfirmed.
The likes of Declaration Of War and Most Improved look a little short in the market judged on what they have done so far and so although perhaps not a likely winner, a solid run from ALJAMAAHEER would prove no shock. Third in the Lockinge on his latest start, he tends to do his best work late on in the race and may well step up to 1m2f before too long. Held in high regard by his trainer he seems to still be learning and improving with every run and given he beat Declaration Of War last time out, he offers some each-way value from an ante-post betting perspective. He finished third at Royal Ascot last year in the Group 3 Jersey Stakes over 7f and is a consistent performer in pattern races; may have his work out against Animal Kingdom and Farhh if the both run but could make the frame.
