After a week of top class racing Ascot is preparing to stage the final few races of this year’s Royal meeting. FORGOTTEN VOICE (14/1) was a welcome winner for us yesterday and as we head into Day 5, our profit for the meeting stands at +12.20 to level stakes. Here we take a look at the final days racing and provide some free betting tips for today’s racing fixture.

2.30 – Chesham Stakes (Listed) 7f

Selection:

SOMEWHAT @ 4/1 with Bet Victor

E/W Selection:

LONE WARRIOR @ 40/1 with Bet Victor

A large field of two year olds are set to do battle in the first race on the card and there is plenty of potential amongst them. Mark Johnston is yet to have a winner at this year’s meeting but he looks to have a good chance of getting off the mark with SOMEWHAT. A nicely American bred son of Dynaformer, he was an impressive 7L winner on debut over this trip and looks a horse of high potential. He has Group 1 entries for later in the season and can go well. At a much bigger price LONE WARRIOR was a winner on his only start despite things not going his way. The step up in trip will suit him and although he doesn’t represent flashy connections he should not be ignored from what could be a good draw.

3.05 – Hardwicke Stakes (Group 2) 1m4f

Selection:

EKTIHAAM @ 5/2 with Ladbrokes

E/W Selection:

DANDINO @ 11/1 with Bet Victor

EKTIHAAM has ran two great races this season, firstly when a close third behind subsequent Group 1 winner Al Kazeem. He then routed his rivals over this course and distance in a Listed race and a bold bid is expected again. He had the re-opposing Thomas Chippendale 6L behind him and he has a big form chance here. Mount Athos is an obvious danger especially on this quick ground and whilst he is more effective over further he is likely to battle it out with Ektihaam. At an each-way price, DANDINO ran well on his first start for Marco Botti last time out and has a Royal Ascot win to his name already. He tends to go well on undulating tracks and he can prove competitive.

3.45 – Diamond Jubilee Stakes (Group 1) 6f

Selection:

SOCIETY ROCK @ 9/2 with Betfred

E/W Selection:

LETHAL FORCE @ 12/1 with Bet Victor

SOCIETY ROCK won this race back in 2011 and looked unlucky last year, making up lots of ground later on after missing the start. He returned this season with a win at York and if running up to his best form he should take all the beating again. LETHAL FORCE was only a head behind Society Rock at York and has some solid course form here at Ascot. With form over 7f, he will be finishing well and as a 4 year old he is still open to improvement as a sprinter.

4.25 – Wokingham Stakes (Handicap) (Class 2) 6f

E/W Selections:

DUKE OF FIRENZE @ 15/2 with Bet Victor

ZERO MONEY @ 33/1 with Bet Victor

Since dropping back to 5f, DUKE OF FIRENZE has looked to be a very smart handicapper winning twice in three starts. He came from well off the pace last time out at Epsom and the step back up to 6f should not inconvenience him at all. Usually held up he will need some luck in running but he is in good form at present and should go close with a repeat effort under a 5lb penalty. ZERO MONEY is now 7 years old and has left Roger Charlton but he ran well enough on his seasonal reappearance and is likely to come on for that run. Partnered by regular jockey James Doyle he is drawn well and is weighted to be competitive at a track he has run well at before.

5.00 – Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes (Handicap) (Class 2) 1m4f

E/W Selection:

LAHAAG @ 10/1 with Bet Victor

Lightly raced and bounced back from a poor effort at Doncaster in the Lincoln when just touched off by progressive First Mohican at York. The two pulled a long way clear that day and a 5lb rise looks fair on the back of that. He looks likely to improve for the step up in trip and with a handy berth in stall 4 he can take another step forward and run a big race.

5.35 – Queen Alexandra Stakes (Conditions) (Class 2) 2m5f159y

E/W Selection:

COURTESY CALL @ 9/1 with Betfred

Staying is the name of the game in this race and fresh from a winner yesterday the Nicky Henderson team will be hoping another flat horse turned hurdler can make an impact back on the level. COURTESY CALL has form in big field handicaps from his time with Mark Johnston and on pedigree this thorough test of stamina should be within his reach. He won on his latest start over hurdles and he looks a big player back on the flat with conditions likely to bring out the best in him.
