Mourinho may again adopt his tight three man midfield to counter the threat of City’s dangerous midfield, with Oscar being the most likely to miss out again. Demechelis struggled when the teams met last week, James Milner likely to get the nod ahead of the Argentinian in central midfield, and Lescott potentially playing ahead of him alongside skipper Vincent Kompany in the heart of the defence.

The Mirror reported that Pellegrini is prepared to rest Silva, Kompany, Yaya and Negredo to give priority to the Barcelona game and the title push.
