The most eagerly-anticipated Premier League fixture of the weekend kicks-off at 8pm this evening, as David Moyes' Manchester United go head-to-head with José Mourinho's Chelsea at Old Trafford. The match is the season's first clash of any of the 'big four' and Sky's Monday Night Football coverage gets underway at 7pm.

United start as 7/5 favourites to win the match, Chelsea can be backed at 23/10, whilst the draw is available at 11/5. All odds quoted are available with William Hill.

David Moyes first home league match as United boss promises to be a cracker, and he will be determined not to let Chelsea come and spoil the party. He must decide whether to include Wayne Rooney against the club who are trying to sign him, although surely it would be a major surprise to see the England striker in the starting XI. United will look to continue where they left off last season, maintaining an impressive home record that has seen them win 14 of their last 16 league matches at Old Trafford. Also worthy of note is that in eight of their last ten home league matches, United have been winning at both half-time and full-time.

José Mourinho will lead his Blues side north attempting to maintain his own personal impressive record against United. The Special One lost only two of the ten meetings between United and Chelsea when he was previously in charge at Stamford Bridge, and knowing Mourinho, he will have instilled absolute belief and confidence in his players that there will be only one outcome at the end of the 90 minutes. Chelsea have an almost fully-fit squad to choose from, although it will be interesting to see who starts up-front for the Blues, with Torres, Ba and Lukaku all vying for places.

The last four league meetings between the sides at Old Trafford have seen two United victories and two Chelsea victories apiece. Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals would have landed winning bets in three of those last four fixtures. In an attempt to avoid defeat in his first league match in charge at Old Trafford, Moyes could almost be forgiven for wanting to keep things tight. But that is not United's style, not at home anyway. I would rather take a punt on goals being scored as opposed to not, especially with the in-form Robin Van Persie likely to be leading the Red Devils line. For me, the Dutchman will prove to be the difference between the sides and he can inspire United to victory.
