Latest Betting Odds for the 2013 Derby At Epsom

Dawn Approach has strengthened his position at the top of the Derby betting market and is now a best price 5/4 to win the Epsom Classic.

The Guineas winner is Evens with most bookmakers at the time of writing and indications suggest he could even start at odds on if the money continues to come. Jim Bolger’s colt won the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket and since then we have seen little in the way of a serious contender in the recent Derby trials.

The Dante at York was won by a 33/1 outsider and one of his main challengers in the betting, Telescope, was pulled out of that race and now faces a race against time to be fit for Epsom on June 1st. Telescope has drifted to 8/1 (Sky Bet) in the betting while the Aiden O’Brian trained Rule the World is also 8/1 after his runaway victory at Chester’s May meeting.

The current second favourite is Battle of Marengo (9/2 with Betfred) who won the Ballysax Stakes on his seasonal reappearance and has continued to stay strong in the betting following an early flood of money for the O’Brian trained colt.
