The two-day Guineas meeting offers up another fantastic day of racing action of the highest class. The fillies take centre stage on Sunday with the 1,000 Guineas the highlight of the card. Although better racing is not necessarily easier to solve, at least we will see the best horses in training strutting their stuff!

Before the main event, I’ve chosen INTEGRAL (11/10 William Hill) in the 2.40pm as my Nap. The Sir Michael Stoute trained runner is, in my opinion, the class horse in the field and, providing she arrives fit and well after 218 days off the track, she should prove hard to beat. Her last run saw her finish a highly respectable second to 1000 Guineas and Coronation Stakes winner Sky Lantern at Newmarket in the Sun Chariot Stakes, and a repeat of that ought to be more than good enough to score here.

Moving on to the highly competitive 1000 Guineas, the majority of the field has solid chances and with that in mind I'm happy to look for a spot of value. In my honest opinion I feel the bookmakers are being tight with their odds (nothing new there some would say), and I have been disappointed by the prices offered for Miss France (5/1 Coral), Rizeena (7/2 SkyBet) and my main fancy Lucky Kristale (8/1 Ladbrokes). Word in Newmarket has reached me that John Gosden has high hopes of victory with BETIMES (33/1 bet365) who is catching pigeons on the gallops. One maiden win from one race tells us very little about the daughter of New Approach but the fact that they’ve sent her here could tell its own story, and a small each way bet could be as good a choice as any!
