1.50 Newmarket

A very competitive opener where FRUITY (10/1 Coral) looks on a decent mark and, having already shown that she acts on soft ground, should get her head back in front. Escrick has already won on soft with her latest effort in a Doncaster handicap off this mark and rates the biggest danger.

2.25 Newmarket

Despite disappointing at Newbury, STRATH BURN (4/1 William Hill) can get back here. He finished an excellent second to Kool Kompany in France previously, form which is very solid. Moonraker struggled a little in a Group 2 last time out but this looks an easier assignment and he can prove the biggest threat.

2.55 Newmarket

Ivawood has a strong level of form after wins in the July and Richmond Stakes. Those both came on good to firm ground so the conditions on offer must be a negative. There is little between Kool Kompany and CAPELLA SANSEVERO (6/1 Ladbrokes) on their efforts at The Curragh back in August and they look the chief rivals with preference for the latter due to the ground.

3.25 Newmarket

MARSH HAWK (10/3 William Hill) has been impressive on both occasions that we have seen her on ground with cut and she can step-up again here on her first attempt in a Group 1. Lucida has already won a Group 2 on yielding ground so looks the one for the forecast.

4.00 Newmarket

It could pay to follow Richard Hannon this afternoon and ESTIDHKAAR (10/11 Coral) looks the likeliest winner here. He is a resolute galloper, doing the job nicely last time at Doncaster in a race that turned into a bit of a sprint, and he has gone with cut in the ground so should be hard to beat. The hood might help Belardo take his form to another level with Maftool a threat if acting on the ground.
