Friday’s Free Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – 28th August 2015

As we head into Friday there is plenty more horse racing action on a busy day with afternoon cards at Ffos Las, Newmarket and Thirsk, plus evening action from Goodwood, Hamilton and Newcastle.

Horse racing tipping expert, Andy Newton, gives you his free horse racing tips and best bets this Friday (28th Aug) across today’s fixtures.

Today’s Horse Racing Tips

Ffos Las Racing Tips –

2.10 – Ffos Las – Not a lot to go on here being a 2 year-old race, but it’s interesting that trainer Brian Meehan has a good 30% record with his runners at the track so we’ll take a chance on his MANCINELLO going well on debut.

BET NOW – MANCINELLO (Bet here at 3/1 with Betfair)

3.15 – Ffos Las – The Ralph Beckett team do well here at the track so in this trappy little 4 runner race then his runner ANOTHER BOY is the call. Third last time out at Brighton the horse has shown a liking for soft ground in the past and that can’t be said for all of the others.

BET NOW – ANOTHER BOY (Bet here at 6/1 with Bet365)

Newmarket Racing Tips –

2.00 – Newmarket – The Godolphin team have a great record in this race so their pair Powder Snow and PROMISING RUN are the two to focus on, with preference for the last-named. Third on debut this Saeed Bin Suroor-trained 2 year-old can be expected to come on for that effort and under James Doyle is the call.

BET NOW – PROMISING RUN (Bet here at 6/4 with Paddy Power)

5.50 – Newmarket – A tough race with 15 declared runners, but the David Barron yard could have the answer here with ART OBSESSION. The horse was a good fourth last time out at Ripon – not beaten far – and having won over further means we know he stays further than this 6f – which might be a plus in this ground.

BET NOW – ART OBSESSION (e/w) (Bet here at 6/1 with Ladbrokes)

Newcastle Racing Tips –

4.40 –Newcastle – The Jim Goldie team took this race 12 months ago so it’s interesting that the yard run another this year – MONEL. The horse continues to slip down the ratings and drops in grade here.

BET NOW – MONEL (e/w) (Bet here at 12/1 with Skybet)

5.45 – Newcastle – The Michael Dods team took this in 2013 and run Cadeaux, but we like David Barron’s ROCKCANDY MOUNTAIN here. This horse has been third on both starts to date and the step back up to 7f should suit.

BET NOW – ROCKCANDY MOUNTAIN (Bet here at 2/1 with Betfair)

Thirsk Racing Tips –

2.20 – Thirsk Trainer David O’Meara’s CAPE LOVE was a decent second on debut at Ayr – beaten less than a length – and so in similar conditions and with that experience under his belt looks the one to beat.

BET NOW – CAPE LOVE (Bet here at 11/8 with Bet365)

5.05 – Thirsk With the David Brown yard having a decent 20% record with their runners here then X RAISE looks interesting here. The horse can be forgiven her last run as the ground was probably too firm and having won on a soft surface then everything points to an improved run.

BET NOW – X RAISE (e/w) (Bet here at 16/1 with Coral)

Goodwood Racing Tips –

5.35 – Goodwood – Sir Michael Stoute’s SWIFT RESPONSE stands out here. The horse was an improved third last time out at Salisbury and looks the sort to improve further for this step up to a mile, while the race doesn’t look the strongest.

BET NOW – SWIFT RESPONSE (Bet here at 3/1 with Paddy Power)

6.40 – Goodwood – Brittleton won well last time and the Harry Dunlop yard are going well at the moment, but the one we like here is SWEETLY DOES IT. This horse was an eye-catching third last time, but, more importantly, the Stuart Williams yard have won this race for the past two seasons with jockey Danny Brock claiming 3lbs then he’s got a lot in her favour.

BET NOW – SWEETLY DOES IT (Bet here at 7/2 with Paddy Power)

Hamilton Racing Tips –

5.55 – Hamilton – GOLD BEAU is one of just a few previous CD winners in the line-up and improved third last time out comes here ready to go well off a 2lb lower mark. The Stubbs yard also do well with their runners here, while trip and going are ideal.

BET NOW – GOLD BEAU (e/w) (Bet here at 10/1 with Betfair)

8.05 – Hamilton – HENRY MORGAN is a previous CD winner here after winning here three times and still looks on a good mark based on previous wins at the track. Yes, a beaten favourite last time out, but that was in a higher grade and dropped back into Class 6 gives him a great chance.

BET NOW – HENRY MORGAN (Bet here at 4/1 with William Hill)
