Football Betting Tips – Premier League matches Sat 28 Sep
With five tasty Premier League matches kicking-off at 3pm this Saturday, I have analysed the statistics for each fixture to bring you my best football betting tips.
For each of the games below I have highlighted my top football predictions:
Aston Villa v Man City
Man City can register their first away victory of the season against a Villa side rocked by the news that star-striker Christian Benteke is out injured for the next six weeks. Their demolition of neighbours United last weekend was a clear sign, if ever we needed one, that Manuel Pellegrini has assembled a classy team more than capable of wrestling the title back to the blue half of Manchester. If last weekend's performance is anything to go by, this match should be a walk in the park for City and I'd expect them to win by at least a couple of goals.
Best bet: Man City -1 (handicap) – 13/10 with Ladbrokes
Fulham v Cardiff
These sides face each other for the first time since 1997, in what could be one of the dullest fixtures on Saturday. The chances of goals look slim, with both sides seeing less than three goals in four of their opening five league fixtures. A goalless draw looks well worth a punt, but as insurance, back no goalscorer just in case the match is settled by a solitary own goal.
Best bet: No goalscorer – 10/1 with Coral
Hull v West Ham
The Hammers travel north to Hull hoping to inflict a first home league defeat of the season on the Tigers, although the concern for Sam Allardyce will be that his side just do not find the net often enough away from home. Hull will make it very difficult as they aim to maintain their decent start to the season and this could be one of these matches where both sides cancel each other out. A draw looks to be the safest bet.
Best bet: Draw – 23/10 with Sportingbet
Man United v West Brom
After last Sunday's destruction by Man City, David Moyes will expect his troops to bounce back with a convincing victory over West Brom at Old Trafford. United have a strong home record against West Brom, winning four of their last six meetings at Old Trafford to nil. With the Baggies only having found the net in two of their opening five league fixtures (albeit they put three past Sunderland last weekend), United should win comfortably.
Best bet: Man United to win to nil – 7/5 with Coral
Southampton v Crystal Palace
Both sides have seen contrasting fortunes to their starts to the season, with Southampton losing only one of their opening five fixtures, whilst Palace have lost four of their opening five. For Ian Holloway's side to get anything from this match is a tough ask and I would expect Saints to make home advantage pay and pick up all three points.
Best bet: Southampton to win – 27/20 with Ladbrokes
