First Round Leader Picks

Peter Hanson – 66/1 EW

Nice value on the Swede here who has finished 15^th and 19^th in his two appearances at the Players Championship, not flamboyant by any means but an excellent accurate player who should plot his way around Sawgrass in style. Out in the second group out from the 10^th tee.

Luke Guthrie– 100/1 EW

Out first from the first tee, Guthrie has no tournament knowledge here, BUT that should not hold him back over just 18 holes, an excellent ball striker who should enjoy the test of Sawgrass. Would be no surprise if he gets off to a flyer: even if he struggles to maintain the form for the 4 rounds.

Bryce Molder– 150/1 EW

Ranked 31^st in Round 1 scoring to date this year and finished 40^th and 33^rd here in the last 2 seasons, Molder is an excellent putter (ranked 2^nd in strokes gained putting this year) who is due a string event. 150/1 will look more than friendly if he strikes the ball better than as of late, he tees off in the 4^th group off the first tee.
