Expert Tips For Thursday’s Channel 4 Races From Newmarket

1.40 Newmarket

WINDSHEAR (3/1 Betfred) and Hartnell both ran huge races at Royal Ascot.  The former was a clear second in a very competitive handicap while the latter won the Queen's Vase.  Forever Now comes here after a demolition job in a Doncaster maiden and, with the stable in great form, has to be considered but marginal preference is for Windshear.

2.10 Newmarket

Belardo and IVAWOOD (3/1 William Hill) were both impressive maiden winners who look to have huge chances.  The former only had to be nudged out hands and heels to beat a field with prior experience at Yarmouth.  The latter represents a yard with a great record in the race, and was a real eye catcher on his Sandown debut so gets the vote.  In a tight field those who were placed at Royal Ascot should go well but are relatively exposed compared to the selection.

2.40 Newmarket

ARAB SPRING (6/4 Coral) was a solid handicap winner at the Royal meeting, looking more than ready for the step-up in grade here.  He is the pick of Ryan Moore over Hillstar who looks the main danger.  Cavalryman and Pether's Moon look the best of the rest and should fight it out for minor honours.

3.15 Newmarket

What About Carlo looked to relish the step-up to this trip at Epsom on Derby day when a comfortable winner of a solid looking handicap but drying ground could be a concern.  MOUNT LOGAN (7/2 William Hill) returned with a bang at Goodwood with a comfortable win off a mark of 85.  He is 10lbs higher here but looks value for at least that.  Mange All represents excellent connections but, although he bolted up in a Beverley maiden, this is much tougher.
