Everton v Swansea Betting Tips and Predictions

Roberto Martinez's old club make the trip up to Goodison Park in the fifth round of the FA Cup and we have free football betting tips.

The weather in midweek meant that Everton's game against Crystal Palace was abandoned without a ball being kicked. In the previous game against Tottenham Everton lost one nil. They had looked comfortable in possession but with Gary Naismith playing upfront as the focal point of attack the Toffees had lacked cutting edge.

As for Swansea since replacing Michael Laudrup with Garry Monk they have improved considerably. Cardiff were blown away in an impressive second half display and they earned a very credible point away at Stoke. This uptick in form has been driven by Leon Britton return to the side. Britton seems to keep things ticking over in midfield. More than this thought Swansea's passing game has received a much needed injection of pace.

Much will depend on how each manager chooses to treat this fifth round cup-tie. Swansea of course want to focus on securing their league status but new manager Garry Monk will likely recognise the importance of keeping the feel good factor going. His decision should be made easier also by the fact that a number of Swansea's injured players are now close to returning to actions.

Similarly, Everton have a manager in Roberto Martinez who enjoys a good cup run. So both teams can be expected to feel strong sides in what should be a close game.

The bookies however, see things differently. An Everton win is a strong favourite coming in at odds of 4/7 with bet365. A draw comes in at 14/5 and a Swansea win comes in at 5/1 with the same provider.

Although I would make Everton slight favourites, especially since they didn't play in midweek, odds of 4/7 are not good enough to bet on. By contrast the odds on a draw or a Swansea win look very attractive.

Given the odds the stand out bet 'double chance Swansea win or draw'. This comes in a 7/5 with bet365. This is a much more likely outcome than the odds would suggest.

If you really fancy Everton though the goal scorers market is the place to look. Lukaku is still out for this game but giant forward Lacina Traore will likely make his first start. Swansea struggled against the height of Andy Carroll in Laudrup's last game in charge and they also had some tricky moments against the Stoke's target man Peter Crouch midweek. Swansea could struggle against the basketball ball player sized Traore. Traore is 13/10 to score anytime at bet365.
