Handicap Betting Tips Cheltenham Festival Day 2

Coral Cup
This is always one of the most fiercely competitive handicaps of the season run at a real gallop where the ability to travel through the race is just as important as stamina.  LAC FONTANA (E/W) (33/1 Ladbrokes) won the County Hurdle at last season's Festival when outstaying Arctic Fire up the hill.  It was no surprise then when he stepped up in trip to claim a Grade 1 at Aintree.  He may have been last of four in his final start but in Vautour, Apache Stronghold and Lieutenant Colonel he faced a trio of top class Grade 1 winners.  He stood no chance against Faugheen first time up this year then appeared to resent the cheekpieces last time out.  With three wins and a second in five March or April starts he looks a Spring horse and it would be no surprise to see the talented Jack Sherwood given the ride to claim a few pounds extra off his back.

Glenfarcles Cross Country Chase
It's difficult to judge the relative merits of the French horses when it comes to handicapping in Britain but TOUTANCARMONT (E/W) (8/1 Paddy Power) is head and shoulders above the best of the raiding party.  He has wins to his credit over distances varying from 2m1f all the way up to 4m4f on good to soft and heavy ground as well as winning from both the front or with exaggerated waiting tactics.  In short he is as versatile as they come and a master of the cross country discipline.  In a race full of ageing rivals, who in the main are handicapped to the hilt, he may find a raid to this side of the English Channel to be rewarding.
